CHAPTER SEVEN

"UNNIE!" NARAE shouted and waved her hand when they saw Wynter walking out of the hospital building.

Wynter turned in their direction and saw them standing against a red Ferrari Portofino. Sabay-sabay pang tinanggal ng tatlo ang mga suot nilang shades. Naiiling na napangiti si Wynter habang naglalakad papalapit sa kanila. "Show-offs," she said.

Narae automatically wrapped her arms around Wynter's body to give her a warm hug. "We missed you so much!"

"I missed you too. How are you?" Wynter softly tapped Narae's back to loosen the hug and faced Anurak and Charles. "Kumusta kayong dalawa?" she asked but first gave Charles a knowing look.

"We're great. As usual, nagpapa-unahan pa rin makahanap ng mabibiktima," sagot ni Anurak.

"And I'm leading," eksena ni Narae na wagas kung makangiti.

Sumama naman ang mukha ni Anurak. "Leading ka riyan. We have the same score."

Narae just made faces again before she quickly went to Anurak's side and gave him a side hug. "By the way, A. I'm driving, okay?" Mabilis ang kamay ni Narae na nahablot kaagad kay Anurak ang susi ng kotse.

Agad namang tumingin kay Wynter si Anurak at naiiling na nagsalita. "Let's all wish that this won't be our last day on Earth—"

"Hey! I heard that!" sigaw ni Narae na papaupo na sa driver's seat.

"You were meant to hear it!" Anurak shouted back before he gave Wyn a smile. "Come on. Let's go. Bibili pa kami ng gamit."

Napailing na lang si Wynter sa kalokohan nung dalawa. Silang dalawa ni Charles ang nahuling pumasok sa kotse kaya naman nasa backseat sila pareho. Once seated, Wynter glanced at Dom and raised an eyebrow. The latter rolled his eyes before he widened his eyes. Wynter just shook her head.

"What's up, guys?" biglang sigaw ni Narae na umagaw sa atensyon nung dalawa.

"So this vlog is about understanding Wyn and Dom's body languages," sunod naman agad ni Anurak na may hawak pang phone gamit ang kanang kamay.

Sabay pang nag-ikot ng mata ang mga nasa backseat kaya parehong natawa sila Anurak. Ilang sandali silang natahimik na apat hanggang sa magsalita ni Narae. "Ay, Ate! Nasaan pala si Autumn at Kuya Angelo?"

Wynter kept her stoic face and Charles acted as if he was not interested in the topic. "They're both at home," simpleng sagot ni Wynter.

"Oh my! I'm excited! Autumn and I will go shopping again," Narae said.

"Ah basta roon ako sa libreng pagkain sa Heaven Taste. Si Angelo ang nagbabantay nun ngayon, diba, Wyn?" Anurak asked.

Wynter frowned. "As of now, no. He's checking something else."

"Ahh... So, nasaan siya?" tanong ulit ni Anurak.

Wynter's voice became cold. "Sino ang ipinunta niyo rito? Si Kuya o ako?"

Mahina namang natawa ang dalawa. "Syempre ikaw, Unnie. Kaya lang kasi kasama ka naman na namin oh. Syempre iba naman ang topic," natatawang pagdadahilan ni Narae na sinang-ayunan naman ng katabi nito.

Wynter rolled her eyes. Nagk-kwentuhan na lang ang dalawa na nasa harapan at pareho namang tahimik ang mga nasa backseat. "Ay, Wyn! Sinong may duplicate ng susi sa condo mo?" biglang tanong ni Anurak

"Why're you asking?"

Anurak grinned. "Syempre lulubusin na namin ni Narae na nandito kami sa Pilipinas 'no. But we can't just bring men into your family's house and nakakahiya kapag galing kaming club ni Narae tapos madaling araw kami uuwi sa inyo."

Wynter got his point so her body and mind relaxed. "Hermano has the duplicate, but I could lend you my key."

Napapalakpak naman si Anurak and Narae cheered. Napailing na lang si Wynter sa inasta ng dalawa. Saglit na sinilip ni Wyn ang tahimik niyang katabi at nakapikit ang mata nito. He looked worn out. Probably because of his wound.

Minutes later, tumigil na sila sa tapat ng mall. Akala ni Wynter ay sama-sama silang papasok ng mall pero agad na kinuha ni Charles ang susi ng kotse kay Narae. Wynter automatically furrowed her forehead.

"Emergency. Nzurz," simpleng salita ni Charles bago tumingin sa matalik na kaibigan like he's asking for her permission.

"Seven or Five?" Wynter asked na ikinanuot ng noo nung dalawa pa nilang kasama.

Charles gave a reassuring smile. "Just seven."

Tumango naman si Wynter at hinayaan nang makaalis si Charles. Lumingon naman siya sa dalawa niya pang kaibigan. But instead of asking, both of them just shrugged. Para namang hindi pa sila sanay sa dalawang may sariling mundo.

Sabay-sabay na silang tatlo na pumasok sa mall at bumili ng mga kailangang gamit nung dalawa.

CHARLES KEPT on cursing himself for lying to his best friend. He used the Nzurz code even if his reason for leaving was purely personal.

His phone beeped again and he saw the blue dot moving. He couldn't thank Narae for helping him track someone. Unfortunately what he's doing might cause a feud between him and Wynter. The blue dot stopped so Charles stepped on the gas.

"I need your help." Charles caught his friends' attention. Medyo matagal pa naman bago sila makarating sa Pilipinas at hindi pa naman out ni Wynter kaya may oras pa siya kung bibilisan niya ang kilos niya. Charles once again stared at his friends, more seriously this time. "I'm a bit desperate."

Hearing those words, Anurak and Narae lost their smiles. "What do you need?" sabay pa nilang tanong.

"I need to track someone."

Bigla namang tumalikod si Anurak. "Ay 'di ako kasama riyan. Talk to Nar."

"I'll be needing your talkativeness," Charles pointed out.

Anurak grinned and faced him. "I'm all ears."

Charles let out a deep sigh. This is embarrassing. "I... I need you to track Angelo Cortez."

Instead of being serious, Anurak and Narae smiled which turned to a grin and then laughter. "OMG! Sabi na bet mo si Oppa eh!" Narae shrieked.

Charles literally facepalmed. "This is a serious matter."

"Reason?" Anurak teased him.

Charles' face became serious. "He stole something from me."

Anurak and Narae exchanged looks before staring back at Charles. "What? Your heart?" Both of them laughed.

Charles rolled his eyes. "Are you gonna help me or not?"

"Uy! Hindi tumanggi!" pang-aasar ni Narae.

"What's the sense of denying it if you two won't believe me?" Charles coldly said.

"Okay okay. Fine. 'Di ka na namin aasarin," Anurak assured him.

'Di naman naniwala si Charles. "And please be reminded that Wynter shouldn't know about this."

"Why?" both of them asked.

Charles took a deep breath. "Just trust me."

Um-agree naman ang dalawa at saka sila nagplano.

Gab, how dare you steal something from me? How dare you take my sanity? I'll find you and you'll pay for it. I swear.
