Chapitre 10 : Kovu's first day and Upendi

The Sun was starting to rise in the sky as Simba stepped out of the Royal Den. The Red Maned Lion woke up before the others it seems. The King stretched his body before climbing down Priderock to walk toward a pound of water not too far from there. As Simba was drinking to his heart content, he was unaware that two figures were equally awake. The first one was Kovu and the auburn male was in pouncing position as he watched the King with barred teeth.

The second one was Feather who woke up before Nothing Hover. The brown-reddish maned young Lion had noticed that Kovu wasn't here anymore and looked around for him. He soon found him spying on Simba and growled when he saw the look in Kovu's green eyes : hatred. Feather was about to attack Kovu when Kiara stepped in front of the auburn male.

Sadly the reddish-beige furred Lion was too far too hear what they were saying bt noticed that Kiara looked eager about something. Feather growled again when Kovu glared toward where Simba stood a moment ago. Feather knew that the auburn male was up to something and his eyes widened when he seemed to realize what it might be : Kovu was here to kill Simba.

Sadly he had no proof....Sure Simba didn't trusted Kovu but Kiara would call him a liar... The brown-reddish maned Lion was conflicted about what to do but then he shook his head : he would wait for more proofs before accusing Kovu. With a sigh, he decided to follow the other two young Lions so he could keep an eye of Kovu.

At the same time, Nothing and Hover were starting to wake up "Hello hun~" The gray Lioness sweetly whispered to her mate as she nuzzled her "Good morning love~" The disabled Lioness responded back with a purr as she nuzzled Hover back. Then she noticed something "Where are Kiara , Feather and Simba ?" Hover looked over ( no pun attended) and frowned "I wonder where are they...." Nothing nodded in approval and the two slowly got up before making their way out of the Den.

Outside, they noticed that Kovu there as well "Maybe he went with Kiara and Feather ?" The disabled Lioness asked with a frown "Maybe... Anyway what do you want to do today ?" "I don't know... I would have loved to run around with you but..." Nothing stopped as she glanced at her broken front-leg. Hover instantly understood and whispered "We can still walk around...just the two of us~" When the disabled Lioness nodded , she and mate walked away to make a tour of the Pridelands.

Meanwhile, Feather was crouching in the grasses watching as Kovu was laying on the ground while Kiara was trying to pounce on him. Sadly, the auburn male must have heard her because the second she pounced , he dunked and the Princess landed away on her back. The brown-reddish maned Lion had to admit

it was kinda funny as he watched Kovu showing her how to properly hunt.

The auburn Male saw a bunch of birds on a hill in the distance and crouched down before pouncing. Suddenly a familiar yell echoed and Feather , still trying to make himself unnoticed, approached only to see Kiara and Kovu talking with Timon and Pumbaa. "Kiara thank goodness ! For once we are not following you ... This just happens to be the best smörgåsbord in the Pridelands ! Bugs everywhere !" he pointed at the area which was full of birds.

Feather arched a raise-brow at this but staid silent "But you don't call for a reservation and... EESH get out of there you scavengers ! Go on SHOO SHOO !" The Meerkat said as he tried to scared the birds away but in vain. Pumbaa ,for his part, was trying to chase the 'scavengers' away but soon the Warthog had to give up "Oh Timon...I'm getting tired...I gotta lose some pounds !" Pumbaa explained as some birds were using him as a perch.

Timon chased the bird out of his friend as Kovu and Kiara approached the duo , laughing. Pumbaa saw Kovu and instantly said with a smile "Hey maybe he could help don't you think ?" The Meerkat looked back at him "Oh yeah that's an idea right ? Let the vicious Outsider... Hey wait I have an idea !" Timon jumped out of Pumbaa's head before landing in front of Kovu "What if he helps ?"
