"The Force connects everything around us. It's not about lifting rocks or only meditating. It guides you. It helps you." I explained after we cleared out the whole assembly plant. I motivated Danse and after a couple of hours, I let him break. He had his regular uniform on and sat down, breaking into some Fancy Lads Snack Cakes.
"Why do you always eat those?" I asked.
"I like them." He said casually. I felt weird training a full grown man... My thoughts were interrupted by Brotherhood vertibirds coming our way and we ran for cover.
"Use the Force to pull them down" I whispered, knowing this would be a good chance to up his powers. He reached out with his hands and was starting to pull them down when they started shooting at us. I went out of cover to defend Danse. He let go of the vertibirds and I had to put them down myself.
"What were you doing?!" I asked Danse.
"Sorry..." I said. "I was..."
I sighed, not knowing if he was meant to be a jedi. "I'm going to the Institute to check on Z1, be safe." I said, then teleported to the Institute. I ran up to Z1. "How's it going?"
"I got everyone ready. We just need weapons, now." He said. "Kill the tunnel guards. The room has plenty of weapons and so do the guards."
"Alright. I'll do it." I said, rushing off to do as he said. I then realized that I only needed to defend myself, not attack the synths. It was too late now. Maybe I could disable them instead? But that requires the director's terminal of which I couldn't get to without getting caught. I decided if I just showed myself and/or used a jedi mind trick I could get the weapons. I went into the room and was immediately confronted by many synths. Some were the guards, but most were the synth rebels. A guard stepped up to me.
"Scanning. You are not authorized to be in the Institute."
"I am authorized to do anything I want, here." I said, waving my hand.
"You are to be destroyed at once."
The Jedi mind trick failed, but at least they were attacking, right? I pulled out my lightsaber and quickly killed all the guards.
"Thank you so much!" the rebel synths said. I walked off to Z1 again.
"Guards eliminated." I said.
"Good. Now you'd have to give me some time to build the weapons and get ready." He said, walking off. I teleported back to where Danse would be.
"I don't know if I can do this." He said.
"Why not? I can feel the Force in you." I said, sitting down next to him.
"I'm a synth. I should've been destroyed."
I paused. Why hadn't I sensed this pain? I guess I was too occupied with training him and working undercover with the Institute.
"Do you really think that?" I asked.
"They never gave me a decent life to remember..." He said. "No mother, no home..."
"Danse, you're human enough for me." I said. "These emotions are human and it's enough for me." I assured him, walking away. Days passed on and I trained Danse more and worked some missions for the Railroad. I then sensed Z1 needed me, so I teleported back to the Institute.
