17.) Three Powerful Clans

"Now, before we get started, we need to guarantee something."

"Of course. I'll stay on your side as long as I hear what you promised." Code looks at Black Zetsu.

"Not that." Code places his hand on the boy's chest. "This..." Behind Code, a young woman who was probably the same age as Saruto, came up in front of her father. She put two fingers in front of her and her eyes turned from a dark brown to a white. Saruto stared at her eyes as if he was in a hypnosis and passed out.

"You sure this will work, Code?" Zetsu says as he picks up the boy. "If he turns on us, we're screwed. You lost most of your powers fighting Boruto Uzumaki and I lost everything I ever worked for when I fought Naruto Uzumaki."

"It'll work, don't worry. The mangekyo sharingan didn't work to distort his world. Instead of the chaos and conflict one sees with the new ability, he sees everything the opposite. This genjutsu causes that mindset and if no one knows he's in it, he'll never escape." Zetsu only nods and brings Saruto to a bed in one of the rooms in the Kara headquarters. Ever since Kashin Koji and Amado betrayed Kara, the group never recovered their reputation, ability, and people.

Saruto woke up and rubbed his eyes. Pain flew from the back of his head to his eyes where his sharingan activated without order. Saruto cries in pain and realizes he's crying blood.

"You have a complicated design for a Mangekyo Sharingan," Says a voice from the corner of the room. Out of instinct, Saruto threw a shuriken at the figure in the dark. "Woah, careful. You'll need me alive to tell you your family's story." Zetsu jokes. Saruto gives the black creature a death glare and gets off the bed.

He starts strapping his extra tools back on his body. He still had his knee bag on him but his scrolls and kunais were on a night stand next to the bed. Zetsu hands Saruto something in the middle of the boy's organization.

"Here," It was a katana. "This was your grandfather's. I think it used to be your father's but wherever he is, he certainly is missing it right now." Saruto grabs the katana from Zetsu's hand and opens it. He observed it and was surprised with the wear. My father and grandfather were warriors. "Now sit down, I have a story to tell...

The Uzumakis were the first to be extinct. Many wives of the Hokages were part of the Uzumaki clan including Saruto's great-grandmother. Due to the knowledge and power the clan had held beyond other villages, neighboring villages and the decided to group together and take down the dangerous clan. In the third great ninja war, the Uzumaki clan was massacred and very few remained alive afterwards.

The Uchihas were next. When Saruto's grandfather was only a child in the academy, his brother, Itachi, had massacred his own family and clan. The Uchihas were planning a coup d'etat to destroy the village and start a war. This info, Zetsu left out. Under the orders of the village elders including the third hokage, Itachi had killed his family and was forced out of the village to observe a group who was a danger to the hidden leaf. After that night, there was only one known survivor, Sasuke Uchiha. That was until Obito Uchiha was discovered to be covering for Madara Uchiha. Sasuke soon killed Itachi for revenge and found out the story of his heroic brother. For almost twenty years after Madara and Obito died, Sasuke and his daughter were the only Uchihas left alive.

The last clan massacred were the Hyugas. Saruto knew this story. True descendants of the brother of the Sage of Six paths, the Hyuga were strict, strong and important. Hiashi, the former clan leader and the father of the seventh hokage's wife, was a loving grandfather and father. In his younger years, he kept the clan strong and clean with an iron fist but when the village became peaceful due to the sixth and the seventh hokage, he became a soft and loving man. Hiashi later died of old age with little complications due to battle. Boruto had been out of the village as always and his mother and sister were grieving for his grandfather's death in the Hyuga clan's home. The shinobi in charge of reporting the case had said that rogue ninjas from the Land Hidden in the Mist had been seen with Otsutsuki and Kara members who wanted the Byakugan. No one survived the massacre in the Hyuga house.
