Chapter Six

♡♡♡

"Ddeonu!" Sunoo cried out as he walked through the streets, "Ddeonu~"

Sunghoon began searching through the backyard, venturing out into the rim of the streets nearby.

The sky was darker now, the thick fluffy clouds now line of mist running through the blue landscape. Sunghoon glanced over to Sunoo who was still occupied with his mission, carrying on with his own search.

"Have you seen him?" Sunoo gave him a droopy head shake before they resumed.

Sunghoon rubbed his arms with his hands, his teeth chattering as he searched. Sunoo heard the faint sound of his teeth clamping together and couldn't help but get distracted again.

"Are you cold?" The question took Sunghoon off guard even if it was a simple question – was he really shivering that much.

"No, are you?" Sunghoon lied, Autumn was his everything and he couldn't give that up just for some blushed cheeks and frosted fingers.

Sunoo chuckled, "A bit, but we can carry on looking though," He gave him a smile to clear up the gloomy atmosphere. Sunghoon reciprocated the smile, clinging onto his red fingers with his others.

"S-sung... Sunghoon..." Sunoo brushed his fingers against Sunghoon shoulders, attempting to tap him. The sudden crack in his voice sent shivers down Sunghoon's spine – he slowly turned around, "L-look," Sunoo's wobbly finger pointed towards the road.

There, Autumn was hopping freely onto the road, "Why aren't you doing anything?!" Pushing Sunoo, Sunghoon ran towards his pet without any second thought. He quickly scooted the bunny in his arms, "What happened to your- "

Sunghoon's heart stopped at the sudden jolt when he was pulled back, clinging onto Autumn tightly, "You could've died!" Sunoo yelled. He watched the car zoom by which was mere inches away from Sunghoon, "Ddeonu," Petting her cold grey fur, Sunoo's eyes widened at the small injury on her left paw.

Sunghoon watched Sunoo expression drop when his eyes met Autumn's paw – his heart started racing. He watched the younger eyes shake as he petted Autumn's unharmed paw, Sunghoon looking away. He couldn't imagine...

"I think I'm... I'm gonna go- "

"Wait!" Sunoo gripped onto a small snippet of Sunghoon's shirt, "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to lose sight of Autumn. I'll be more careful just let me help you,"

"I have to go..." The dark-haired male didn't notice the shiny gloss covering Sunoo's irises.

"Plea- "

"Just leave me alone!" Tugging back his arm, Sunghoon screeched with such a tone that he could feel the burn in his throat. Sunoo stood there – stunned – yet he complied. His focus was on the grey injured bunny then shifted to Sunghoon's eyes.

Releasing his clenched fist, "O-okay, bye..." Sunoo trotted back slowly, containing in the sudden grin which had rather surprisingly appeared on his face.

Sunghoon let out a sigh and glanced down at Autumn before making his way back into his house. He walked into the kitchen and grabbed the first-aid kit, getting out a small bandage and placing the kit beside him. He cleaned the cut with a wipe, petting Autumn's grey fur whenever she winced.

"It's finished Autumn," Sunghoon gave a relieved smile at the cleaned-up paw and the happy Autumn which sat on his lap, "It's okay." He cooed warmly as he tickled his pet's chin.

"I'm so stupid..."

Sunoo held his head in his hands, staring out of the damp window with a dull expression contemplating his life decision just as he'd seen in those movies, but it wasn't really working out besides making him look empty.

"What did I do wrong?" The huff he let out fogged up the glass once again. Sunoo remembered Sunghoon smiling – smiling because of him. Nothing made sense. He knew it was his fault that Ddeonu got hurt but was it really only his fault? Sunghoon was there too, he should've seen too; nothing made sense.

He didn't know what to think.

"I miss Ddeonu already... I hope he's okay," Sunoo rested his head against the wall, "You know what- "

"Sunoo!" His dad called out, "here's your coat, I sewed it for you,"

He had completely forgotten about that stupid coat Jay had ripped but that wasn't his priority right now, "Coming!" He replied before running downstairs. He looked around and quickly picked up the coat beside his dad until something caught his attention.

"Dad?"

"Mmh,"

"What's that?" He pointed towards the tall glass of banana milk with a note on a table beside his father.

His dad looked over and gave his son a smile, "Oh that – it's just some milk the neighbours told me to give their son. He's feeling a bit sick." Sunoo tilted his head but suddenly realized who he was talking about.

"Sick huh?" Sunoo thought aloud, muttering under his breath with a warm smile coating his lips, "Dad, can I give it to Sunghoon?" His dad nodded as he rested back on the sofa, watching his drama with a faint grin.

"You know him?" His dad asked to which Sunoo replied with a nod.

"Yeah, we're pretty tight," Sunoo tousled his hair aside with a faint smile making his father chuckle quietly.

"So, I guess you know then?"

"Know what?"

"...Nevermind".

Sunoo was going to ask once more until he felt a vibration in his pocket along with loud tunes buzzing from his phone, "Sorry dad," he apologized before going into the hallway – his dad too occupied by the fact that Chunyeol was dying.

"What is it, Jay?" Sunoo grumbled into the phone still holding his grudge a week later. He heard Jay pull the phone away from his face and begin chuckling before putting him back on the line.

"What happened to 'Oh hi Jay – how are you?'" The warm chortle emitting from his phone made Sunoo playfully roll his eyes, yet it made him smile.

"But why did you call?" He softened his tone as he leaned against the wall.

"Do you want to go to Nine Teas to hang out?" Jay asked. Sunoo pondered for a moment and decided why not until something popped up in his head.

"Do they have banana milk?" Sunoo asked nonchalantly as if it was something he asked regularly.

"Yeah – why?" The blonde-haired male stretched out the vowels of the word yeah; Sunoo smiled at how confused Jay was.

"Just craving it." Bingo. Sunoo brushed his hand through his hair, biting his lip.

"See you then, bye Sunoo." Jay was the first to hang up and brought an end to their call. Sunoo began doing a small victory dance with his phone still in his hand, quickly shoving it in his pocket and straightening his posture.

"You are going out again?" His dad raised his eyebrow to which Sunoo nodded bluntly.

"Sorry dad," Sunoo muttered as he began shoving on his shoes again for what seemed like the fifth time today.

"Just be home by 7:10, mum will be home." Giving his dad a quick nod before running out the door, "Bye Ddeonu!"

"Bye, dad!"
