Chapter Twenty-eight

Sunoo twiddles with his straw, his duffle coat slung over his chair, seeming as it was in the middle of June it was quite rare for him to use it but sometimes the sky just rains whenever it wants to. As you can probably guess, because of the weather Nine Teas wasn't as packed as it usually was, only a few tables decked out with people.

"Hasn't it been forever since we all went to Nine Teas together?" Jay rests his head on his palm, taking a sip of his boba. He looks outside the broad windows covered in raindrops that run down the sides, fogging up due to the frosty air.

"Boba gets boring after a while don't you think?" Jungwon points out, placing his now empty cup down, "So, Sunoo's dating Sunghoon now – huh?" Jungwon nudges teasingly at Sunoo's side who just shrugs his off but not without being a little flustered of course.

"Sunoo finally spoke up," Jay presses the straw on his lips once again, grinning coyly when Sunoo hides his redden face behind his hands, "now it's only time till Jake gets a crush." He jokes.

"I think Jake already has a little crush, " Sunoo finally takes a sip of his now cold milk tea. His fingers fit snuggly underneath the hinge on the cup; there was really no use of a mug warmer now.

"Sunoo," Jake squeals pushing his cup closer to him as if he were to protect it, "why do have to be like that?" he exasperates, still fiddling with the beaded bracelet under the table.

"Jake has a crush on Ni-Ki~" Sunoo points his measly finger at Jake teasingly which causes him to blush, swatting away helplessly at his friends teasing gazes.

"We're just friends – okay," He examines the bracelet, tracing his fingers over the exterior of the simple yet cute design. He feels his cheeks grow hotter and a smile edge itself onto his lips when he remembers how happy Ni-Ki was when he saw the smiley faces and how embarrassed he was to admit that he couldn't tie the string, "...just friends," he whispers to himself.

"Well, Jake will eventually fall for someone," Jungwon glances over at Jake who just shrugs his shoulders, "even if he won't admit that the somebody is Ni-Ki," Jake was too busy admiring each little charm with a silly grin to notice that his friends were pocking fun at him once again.

"When did we start dating?" Jay's peers over at Jungwon who pouts his lips and thinks back.

"Hmm, it's been almost three years so like two years ago?" Jungwon responds dubiously to which Jay just nods in response, "seems about right."

"That seems like such a long time," Jay exasperates as he gently bumps their shoulder together which makes Jungwon blush, intertwining their finger underneath the table. He nods slowly as indulges himself in the warmth of Jay's hands, glancing down to examine their interlocked hands.

"You guys are so obvious," Sunoo jokes. He watches as the caramel swirls with the plain milk tea, stirring the two different tangents together to make a sweet taste. He presses his lips against the straw and takes a sip, the burst of bliss on his tongue makes him smile sweetly at the feeling. Things taste so much better when they're together – kind of like Sunghoon.

"It's not like you don't do things with Sunghoon," Jay squeeze Jungwons hand and rubs his thumb over Jungwons skin. Sunoo's cheeks are now stained with a light pink hue that makes the three of them chuckle, Sunoo not finding their banter very amusing.

"And then there's Jake who's just pinning helplessly for Ni-Ki," Jake looks over at Sunoo with wide eyes at his unnecessary remark.

"What no I'm not," Jake shoots back but it doesn't do much justice for his case.

"Then why do you keep staring at Ni-Ki's bracelet like it's Layla," At that comment, everyone is squealing (except Jake of course) resting their head on the table at how spot on the remark was. Jake just blushes furiously unable to react properly to Sunoo's tease but he's just laughing so much he's redder than himself.

"R.I.P Jayla," Jungwon presses his hand to his heart, his eye full of fake tears, "you will be missed." Jake just shoves Jungwon playfully, Jay circling his arms around his boyfriend and nuzzling their cheeks close to each other before letting him go.

"Hey Jake," Sunoo ignores the cute moment and focus on Jake, "Which ship name do you think is better: JaKi or YunKi?" He shows Jake his scribbles of the letter on the torn piece of paper to Jake, pointing at each ship name with his sparkly green gel pen.

Jake just lowers his head in defeat to which Sunoo just shrugs meekly, "I guess I'll just ask Ni-Ki then," He scoots the paper and pen back to his seat, "do you want me to pass on any messages?" He winks nonchalantly at Jake.

"I can speak to him myself," Jake pushes Sunoo away with a silly smile, Sunoo's lips forming into a subtle pout as he scribbles more words on his tiny paper.

"Hey Jungwon," Jay calls out, "what should we do for our three-year anniversary?" Jungwon rests his cheeks on his knuckles and shrugs his shoulders, parting his messy hair to get a better view of Jay.

"We could reminisce our first year anniversary or maybe we could go to where we had our first date?" Jay is too busy in his dwam to take account of Jungwons words, "are you listening?" Jungwon waves his hand over Jay's dreamy eyes, but he just nods slowly.

"Hey Jake,~" Sunoo pokes teasingly at Jake's shoulder, "Where are you going to take Ni-Ki on your first date?" He brings out the ripped piece of lined paper again, this time it was filled with different date ideas.

"You don't have to rub in the fact that I like Ni-Ki this much, okay?" Pause... "I mean-"

"Jake just admitted his crush on Ni-Ki!" The whole table goes crazy (again) but this time it's messy. All Jake can hear are loud squeals and people nudging at him from both sides making him feel all gross and hot. Jungwon cups his hands over his face while Jay is just teasing him like crazy and well Sunoo, Sunoo couldn't be happier to have finally exposed his short-lived secret,

"Okay, you guys got me..." He admits in defeat.

"Hey, guys." Sunoo sits up in his chair "I gotta go pet sit Ddeonu now – so see you later?" He scoots out of the chair and swings his duffle coat around his arms and body, picking up the empty cup before throwing it on his way out. He slips his phone into his coat pocket and gives his friends a delayed wave before running off.

"Kind of reminds you like old times – huh?" Jay smiles.

"Now you just sound like you're fifty." Jungwon nudges at Jay who just chuckles.

This chapters quite short and is really only meant for all the other members to be more involved in the story but I hope you still enjoyed :]
