Chapter Twenty-Nine

♡♡♡

When Sunoo got to Sunghoon's home, he followed Ddeonu outside to his garden hutch. Even though the rain didn't seem to be stopping anytime soon, Sunoo couldn't shake off Ddeonu's request. She was just ecstatic every single time he brought up the falling water from the sky and he just couldn't get the adorable image of Ddeonu trying to taste the rain.

He bends down on his knees and doesn't care about running his trousers with water and faint mud stains. Sunoo ruffles Ddeonu's now wet grey fur which soon made his hand damp, "Aren't you going to catch a cold?" He smiles cheekily at the soaking bunny who just response with beady eyes as she nibbled at her food.

Sunoo cups her wet cheek with a cupped hand and admires her cute face, "You really remind me of someone," He jokes and brushes off Ddeonu's noes, "Ah, Sunghoon yes." The cheesy grin made him laugh. People outside must have thought he was crazy – imagine seeing a boy feed his bunny in a downpour while laughing childishly but he didn't mind.

Picking up a baby carrot, Sunoo holds out the small treat which Ddeonu attempts to bite at, slipping the vegetable out of Sunoo's hand, "Hey," He grins shyly, "You didn't even ask first – or say please." He watches as Ddeonu nibbles happily at the fresh soggy carrot.

"You're really something special you know that" He whispers softly to Ddeonu, smiling fondly at the relaxed bunny enjoying his food, "you're the reason why I'm here smiling and with Sunghoon; you kept him company all this time which I'm so thankful for," He nuzzles his cheek into Ddeonu's fur, "I love you..." He mutters.

It was so strange – Sunoo saw the world around him in bright colours through his crescent eyes, the bright panes of the soggy plant and freshly bloomed flowers made him smile bright. However, the world was covered in deary blue and grey, the sky raining down heavy heaps of water that splashed the clear sky in darkness but to Sunoo he could see faint stars twinkle in them – looming over him just like Sunghoon would always do. Even if he were gone.

It was so amazing how love could change your viewpoint on anything (except ice cream apparently) – how it was so strong to numb out the blue days and make them seem so much livelier than everyone else could see. He wondered if love would always make him feel on cloud 9 if it would always make you smile under the nightfall – if it would always make him happy.

But Sunoo wasn't blind. He knew it hurt. He knew some people treated the powerful emotion of love like dirt by how horrible the scars they left on them looked how much they had stung. Sometimes the rain can look even more dreary even if the stars were shining because love was so powerful that it could taint anyone's views, emotions, and beliefs. Love is such a simple word yet can taint everything around you. It is so abstract nothing can really describe the complex nature of its overwhelming power but that's what made it so beautiful.

Love is such a beautiful tragedy.

Sunoo smiled at himself at the hearty statement he had come up with, "It really is..." he breaths out to Ddeonu who looks up at his soaked form with large bunny does eyes that make his heart melt.

"Oh, Hi Sunghoon," Greeting Sunghoon with a short wave, Sunoo smiles warmly at Sunghoon who returns the gesture with a shy smile. He walks over to Ddeonu and Sunoo, taking a seat beside Sunoo.

"Why didn't you just use Ddeonu's inside hutch?" Sunghoon lets the words tumble out airy brittle and unfished, "I mean Autumn..." he adds on.

Sunoo decides to let Sunghoon's slip up go unnoticed, "Ddeonu was practically begging me to feed her in her garden hutch and how could I say now to her doe eyes?" Stroking Ddeonu's wet fur, Sunghoon nods nonchalantly with a brighter smile on his lips.
