Amethyst and Beatré came to a mutual agreement by sunset they would meet the most hated and or envied people of the land. Of course thier meeting would be a secret because from the stories Amethyst has heard, they won't be able to tell which face the Nobles wished to show them.
"A public execution, a man hunt and a war?" A nobleman from the house of Phoe spoke to his peers
"If you think that is bad wait until you hear that she not only expects our sons to fight but also our daughters
I think it is a plan to..." A nobleman from the house of Hoütti continued to speak unaware of the presence of the queens."To do what exactly Senior Hoütti" Beatré spoke shocking all the Nobles seated in the lounge.Senior Phoe slowly looked up towards the balcony where Beatré stood."My queen I did not know you would join this meeting"
"It appears so Senior Phoe you all remember my sister Áxios" Beatré pointed to the balcony on the opposite side of the room and heads snapped into that direction. Senior Delphi smiled
"How could we forgot the lost daughter, who spits fire she was promised to the nobles of the north" Amethyst looked down on the group with no form of expression "I'm flattered Senior Delphi here I was thinking that the nobles only knew of the fancy events.""This is about us not attending the execution isn't it" A nobleman from the house of Satori tried to be the mediator. Beatré smiled sweetly but it did not match her eyes "And you are correct Senior Satori. I am not entirely sure you understand that your favour was with our parents and grandparents. We do not know you and you are not really doing anything to change that." The Nobles started to get uncomfortable because everyone knew where this was heading. "We were at your introduction, the battle and your coronation." Senior Delphi reminded Beatré of their brief encounter.
"What Beatré is saying is that the Nobles need a reason to exist and looking dashing while walking over your fellow people is not a solid enough reason. " At that moment half the Nobles had an unspoken agreement, they liked Amethyst better when she wasn't smiling at them. The other half still didn't have any idea that they held no power over their sovereigns, one of those being Senior Etháion "Excuse me our family's wisdom has been used by the house of Ferox for as long as I can remember how dare...!"
"Speaking of your family, how are your children that abandoned Trithia oh and it almost slipped my mind, you are excused." Amethyst waited for her to leave but she only responded to Amethyst "I don't know your majesty maybe the Ferox who has abandoned Trithia will treat them well.""I like this noble Beatré can we keep her" Amethyst knew this was unnecessary but something about fights always made her feel something that she liked. "I don't know Áxios it doesn't really sound like we've found a need for 28 nobles." Beatré wasn't mischievous by nature but after spending over a year with Amethyst it might have started to get contagious. Senior Phoe stood "There aren't twenty-eight nobles there are seven house of nobles per sector making it twenty-one overall."
"Oh dear, Áxios I think we have started something rather unpleasant this fine evening."
"I for one think it's eye opening dearest sister, had they been keeping us in their social circle they would have known that we have taken the liberty to make adjustments." People just looking back and forth with their jaws unhinged.
"You can not just change years of..." Senior Hoütti couldn't comprehend how the meeting took a turn from gossiping in luxury to negotiating to keep said luxury.
"Can't I ?" Beatré was beginning to get annoyed and everyone could see it
"What my colleague is saying is that something's should not change without consultation." Senior Safari was as close as it gets to pushing someone over the edge."Can I ask you something what is the purpose of a noble if it is not to be an ally of the throne." Amethyst put aside the mischief to get down to business
"What she is saying is that you want us to consult with you but you separate yourself from the masses therefore rendering your opinion insufficient" Beatré followed suit.
"That is putting it nicely you can not really make decisions for the average citizen if you have not been one for years. Not to mention the fact that you may not have our people's best interest at heart." Amethyst left no crumbs
"I would die for this land!" Senior Safari
"This is my home!" Senior Delphi"Congratulations Senior Safari, Senior Delphi Senior Etháion Senior Shara Senior..." Beatré started calling out all the Nobles who put aside formalities to express themselves but she was interrupted by Senior Phoe "Alright what do we have to do?" Amethyst looked at them thinking that what should be done was quite obvious
"Get off your high horses and meet the people your children will fight along side of..."
Senior Hoütti must have forgotten his manners "You still expect us to give up our children to... "
"Are you not citizens do not pretend that you have worked for the resources you squandered we fight together Nobles, Queens or the average national." Amethyst did not even falter
"Who will choose which child gets to go?" Senior Shara was terrified but Beatré would not let emotions cloud her judgment "Each of sector will submit a list with all the children of nobles along with the various documents."
