Everything back home was supposed to be peaceful, but it was the total opposite. They pressed the little retrieve button in their armour and instantly got transported to a city with citizens running while the castle was burning.
"I think we took a wrong turn." Nab Press said in disbelief. Ćib Riat and Bronon looked worried. "How long were we in there." Bronon looked at his watch in hopes of giving Ćib Riat an answer that wouldn't let her overreact Just three days." Everyone stood there for a good ten minutes in disbelief before moving towards the castle, as the fire was dying down.
When they got into the castle things were as crazy as they were outside you had healers running around, scientists were trying to make medicine and people were either laid dead on the ground or just rolling and crying. They locked up the traitors they carried back, each in a different room seeing that the place they would normally hold them was gone (I don't mean Janigtollo gone I mean someone blew it up.)
They headed to the throne room this is where they found a healer moving away from the body of the queen's personal guard (I think I mentioned her before she was the first soldier to speak to the queen when Amethyst first came to this land.) Everyone knew this was bad because no one saw the king, nor did they see the queen and their protectors are either dead or injured. "Where are our rulers!!!" Bèatre asked everyone, dying, or tending to the dying she didn't care. "They sit in safety as di the other nobles, with the best healers and scientists tending to them and them alone!!!" This came from a man who was badly wounded he had lost a limp and a lot of blood, the only thing that the healers could do for him was try to take away the pain. "Can someone who is neither nursing nor dying explain our situation here, what has happened?" Amethyst asked and this child came up to me covered in dirt.
"Five attempts they made, five tries to kill the king but non prevailed until the 6th try, our king is dying, our queen is hurt and it took years to build but in days our walls have fallen." This was quite a lot to say much less to take in but the child continued "Many hid, A few went against our nature and fought but human they were not, for not even our strongest soldier could beat their weakest man, we fought well but in the end the deed is done, for the king cannot be saved and it matters not that we have brilliant minds on our side for what we do not have is time." This was quite a child, though the news she bared was bad, but her delivery was impressive "What is your name?" She seemed to be wondering if she should let Amethyst know it or not, but she told her anyways My name is Samurai." Amethyst figured she had missed something because everybody stopped what they were doing to look at her. (To this day I am quite sure a man who was going towards the light turned back from it to look at her and then returned to the light.)
Wéverly spoke up "Daughter of Saburau Josei?" The young girl answered yes and for a moment everyone forgot about the state they were in to cheer but Amethyst was still lost. Wéverly filled her in though "Her family's story is told to every child may it be he or she for before we found solitude we sent out a family with the adults always being Saburau and the child being Samurai until they completed their set purpose." She wasn't wrong about everyone knowing cause everybody except for Samurai and Amethyst joined in. "But all were male until massacre 1868 where only one was left she was Saburau Josei first daughter of the cause." Amethyst still had a few questions, but she decided to run with it rather than asking. After they calmed down Bronon and Ćib Riat went looking for their parents while Nab Press went to check on her mother. The Ferox sisters stayed behind brassing themselves for what would happen when they visited their parents.
"Mother?" Beatré and Wéverly ran to her, but Amethyst just stood back. She was laying down on the bed a feeble woman compared to the person who she was months ago. Amethyst thought she should do something, but she did not want to interrupt their moment, so she turned to leave
"Áxios, is that you my child?" Amethyst stopped in her tracks and then looked at the source of the weak voice. This was her mother, and she could say that without fear of being punished. So, she did "Yes mother, Áxios is here."
"My beautiful girls, I did my best to defend our land, but I failed you and my people. There is a treatment for my illness, but I must be asleep to heal so I wish upon you the best of luck. Do better than I."
They wanted to ask their mother more, but she dosed off right after she spoke. They moved to talk with Abrose. Unlike with their mother they could see death standing beside their father, he truly was dying.
"Children....you're here. How...How are you?" At this point Beatré and Wéverly were tearing up so Amethyst answered for them "We are doing a lot better than you. I understand that father's here get to have a final wish?" He smiled at Amethyst because apart from a few flaws Sebastian grew a strong woman he could not deny that. With all his strength he looked at them and said
"Our people are afraid, and they are lost but you three are strong and you will rule as such. I want to see your ascension to the throne before I die so you have 24hrs to get ready your mother and I will be there and that is a promise."
He called one of the guards and told them to alert our people and the people of Anzula that they have 24hrs to prepare for the coronation of their queens. After leaving their father they went their separate ways, Amethyst went to help the healers Bèatre and Wéverly went to who-knows-where.
In the room where the traitors were locked Si'Reya sat chained to furniture pleading for her life
" Master I helped with our cause, I did nothing but honour you I am aware that we swayed from the original plan, but we got the artifact. Have mercy upon me I beg of you. "
but her master was not having it
"Swayed?" The master laughed at that "I told you to keep your brother in control, SWAYED!! is an understatement and I was not honoured I was threatened." Si'Reya was now in tears "But my queen you asked for me to be like that I don't understand." Her master laughed
"You are absolutely right. The truth is I loathe you, the feelings you have inside you are not yours they were mine; they were stolen by my own mother and this is your price for taking them. Your payment is due" The master took up her sword and as she was about to behead her follower Si'Reya cried out Please!! I didn't know, please." But her pleading was pointless Wéverly had made up her mind and with that the head of SiReya former lover of Jerome the last exiled rolled across the room she was put in.
