A/N: I don't own, Quantumtale. I didn't know much about the AU, but I wanted to world build. I wanted to show you relationships and some OC characters and some out of character to help you get an idea of some influences. I even created a weird leadership system. It took me a while, but I couldn't break this chapter in two or shorten it more than I already have. Sorry if it's so long.It was a beautiful place to be. At the Royal Gathering, it feels like it came out of a storybook, and for Chronos that was saying something. It was nothing compared to Outertale Royal Gatherings, but it was sure as hell close. It kind of reminded him of an anime- of a host club Blue had watched with him but of a more royal than rich setting.
There are no motor vehicles, or not yet, so there was a mile-long red carpet that leads from the ballroom entrance to outside the castle. Red carpet stanchions lined the sides of the carpet until the castle doors. A little bit after the door was a backdrop for pictures of those who came together, so guests got a photo and the Royal Family has one to keep a record of who came and for memories.
After the photo, you would follow the red carpet up a grand purple staircase to the second floor. Straight ahead are the ballroom doors. There is an announcer who says who joins the Royal Gathering. The right wall is lined with a table topped with a lot of dishes.
From appetizers, like cheese and crackers to main courses like roast beef, duck, and pig, to desserts like tiramisu, Nice Cream, and chocolate chip cookies, they had it all. Tables to sit and enjoy themselves surrounded the edge of the room near the walls.
There was a stage on the left side of the room that had a live orchestra playing music. Just a little in front of the stage is the Royal Family's table that had their sides to the stage. The tables to the left and right of their table were reserved for the Royal Court.
The Royal Court is made up of Royal advisors like the Guards, Scientists, and Judges. They sit on the left of the Royal Families. Their family would have sat at the table to the right. However, it was reassigned as the kid's table since there were not that many kids who would attend while the head's of the families sat with their elected King and Queen. This allowed Asgore to mingle with kids around his age.
The room was a royal purple with all the chairs and round tables covered in white silk covers. The lights were very bright to showcase the food, the orchestra, and the Royal Court, and the dance floor. The Royal Gathering was to share the great news on Gaster's achievements on the Core and to have everyone catch up with each other. However, Chronos knew that King Lorian set this up so they could meet with an audience.
Chronos was aware the humans were getting closer to start a war with them. He knew that King Lorian had an idea of his strength in magic. Chronos knew that the King wanted to convince Chronos to help in the war. However, Chronos also knew that wasn't what the codes were trying to reveal to him.
It was something bigger than just having the King try and fail to convince him to fight for their kingdom. Chronos knew it was something else, but he didn't know what it was. His Soul was thumping in his rib cage as the anticipation grew in him. His paranoia and anxiety started to grow within him.
Chronos was glad that they were the first to be there to make sure everything was set up. It avoided being stared at as he entered. Chronos must have shown how on edge he was because Tk, Paper Crane, and newly named Mora were staying close to him and casting him worried glances. They already had their food and sat at their table, but they were not hungry yet.
As the evening continued, more and more people came. Familiar and many unfamiliar monsters Chronos took note of. There was a fire elemental family, which Chronos recognized kid Grillby. Asgore, Undyne, and Alphys were there. He also recognized Muffet, Mettaton, and Napstablook. Mettaton and Napstablook were ghosts though. They were the only kids, including a green monster girl with snake hair.
