Time Miscalculation

The Incident

A few days after chatting with Gaster in his personal Anti-void, Chronos was officially adopted into the family as Chronos Erratum du Void. Chronos picked out the rest of his name to remember his roots as a written error in his old Multiverse that was apparently nothing the Void couldn't get rid of. Even though Chronos was still missing his memories after the massive fight, he was just going to wait for them to come back naturally. Upon hearing that the Royal Scientist had another son, all eyes were on Chronos as everyone wanted to know about Gaster's mysterious new son.

A few weeks later Chronos found himself off to the side as he was watching over his new brothers as they played outside. He watched as Sans talked to the Alphys of the AU, while Papyrus was playing with mud. Chronos stayed off to the side as to not catch people staring at him. It made his paranoia skyrocket as they stared, so it was best to hide in the shadows.

Sans had asked Chronos for advice on how to get Alphys to be his friend and show her that he wasn't like all the other boys. All he could do was tell his brother to be patient, persistent, and himself. Chronos told Sans that Alphys was trying to befriend them in order to get close to the their father since he's the Royal Scientist, but Sans didn't care. He wanted to be friends with Alphys and Chronos wouldn't stand in his way.

Chronos allowed his siblings to be near Alphys, but made sure that she came nowhere near him. He still had some major trust issues and he felt that she would bring trouble to her brothers, whether intentional or not. Chronos was afraid his new family was going to get hurt in some way or another, but he wasn't sure of it yet.

"Hey Chrono!" Papyrus called as he approached with some mud on a plate. "Can you try my new dish I made!? I want you to tell me what you think."

Chronos smiled down at his little brother as he was handed the plate. After two weeks, Chronos's hard work paid off with improving his little brother's speech pattern along with his brother being able to understand him with all the glitches and static in his voice.

"aLrIgHt pApS," Chronos said as he looked at his younger brother. "i'lL EaT It. I'M SuRe iT'S DeLiCiOuS."

Chronos took a bit of mud and popped it in his mouth and swallowed. He took notice that Sans, Alphys, and a few adults had watched him as he did this. They stared at him in horror, shock, and disgust. However, he paid them no mind as he looked at his brother with a soft smile.

"tHaT WaS GrEaT PaPs," Chronos compliments. Then a thought came to mind. "wHy dOn't yOu gO ShArE ThIs wItH SaNs aNd aLpHyS. i'm sUrE ThEy wOuLd eNjOy tHe fOoD As mUcH As i dId."

Papyrus beamed at his older brother. "You're right! This greatness should be shared with them as well!"

With that, Papyrus ran over to share the mud with the other two. Chronos watched as the two hesitantly ate a bit of mud and saw as they made funny faces. Many were left wondering how the mud didn't affect Chronos. Of course, only Sans and Gaster knew that Chronos could eat just about anything and wouldn't be affected.

Papyrus came back with an empty plate as he bounced around him in excitement. "They liked it! They liked it! Do you think daddy will teach me to cook now!?"

Chronos laughed and pulled Papyrus close to him, but made sure not to crush him. "eVeN BeTtEr. I'Ll tEaCh yOu tHe pRoPeR WaY To cOoK. yOu wIlL Be tHe gReAtEsT CoOk wHo eVeR LiVeD. i wIlL MaKe sUrE Of tHaT."

Chronos smiles softly at his cheering brother. He wasn't about to let Papyrus be insulted behind his back. Chronos had seen many within the AUs cook, and he was taught by Blue and Horror. He was going to make sure Papyrus was a great cook so he could be praised by others with honesty.
