Worlds Away 1- Introductions

The blazing lights pulled Nila away from her deep slumber. Though many years had passed, it seemed like just a few moments ago they were put into a chronic ice chamber, frozen for their trip to the new planet. Andhakar. A whole new beginning. 

While the adventures bring excitement to Nila, a part of her remains sad for leaving her family and potentially never seeing them again. The only reason she even got on this spaceship was that her parents will now have a good chance at life. 

In 2045, during the UN's discussion in regards to dealing with global warming and overpopulation, RK Aeronautical's CEO Raksha Kumar proposed finding another planet with a suitable ecosystem so that the population could be divided between the two planets. After meeting with hesitation from governments, Mr.Kumar volunteered to head the mission at his own cost. By 2050, he was able to find another planet in a different galaxy that contained similar ecosystems as Earth. 

However, Mr. Kumar met with an unforeseen obstacle. Time on the new planet moves so slowly. By the time a day passes there, centuries would have passed on Earth. This means travelers who come to settle in the new planet will never be able to return to their life on Earth. 

Even so, governments around the world decided it was an acceptable risk to improve Earth's environment. People from around the world were randomly selected and asked to embark on this journey. For each participant, the families were rewarded $50,000.

When Nila was asked, she did not even hesitate to accept. The recent years left her family in large debts and the money could help bring stability back into their lives.
