HE FELT AS IF HE WAS DROWNING. He couldn't breathe at all.

He tried to inhale, but no air was coming in. He was getting desperate. But he also felt paralyzed.

Come on. Just breathe. Come on. He thought over and over. But it wasn't working.

He opened his mouth, but ended up inhaling water, making him cough and inhale some more.

He closed his eyes, waiting for it all to end.

But then he woke up gasping.

It didn't take much to realize that he was dreaming.

Thank god he was.

Then it hit him.

Was what happened the night before even real ?

He took a deep breath, and got up from his bed, then noticed the small paper lying on his nightstand.

He reached for it, and stretched it open gently.

I love you, babe. I'm here for you. Please move on.  -Love, Mal-

So it wasn't a dream. But it certainly felt like one. He hugged the paper closer to his chest, closing his eyes for a moment.

What if he couldn't move on ?

"Good morning, Finn ! Are you hungry ?" Nawal asked softly. He shook his head and went towards the sink, grabbing a glass and filling it with water.

"I'm going to go back to my room." He whispered in the softest raspy voice ever. Nawal almost gasped in shock as she heard him speak for the first time in three months. He turned around, ready to leave. But she grabbed his arm gently, making him look at her. He noticed that her eyes were filled with tears.

"Finn, sweetie.. You know that I love hearing you speak, right ? I just wanted you to know that, if you're ready to talk, I'm always here to listen."

She noticed her sons standing by the kitchen entrance, rolling their eyes. She frantically ignored them, and engulfed the boy in a warm hug. He barely hugged her back before she let him go and gave him a reassuring smile.

He gave her the smallest smile before turning around to leave the kitchen, ignoring the sight of Rajwan and Adam who were staring daggers at him.

"I promise if I heard the fact that you two were bullying him from now on, I'm locking you both in your rooms and I'll take away your phones." She threatened.

"It's his fault she died !"

"No, it's not ! She loved him, didn't she ? I love whatever my kids love, even including you two. You should respect her and do whatever she would've wanted." She replied wholeheartedly.

That made them feel something.

Rajwan stared at the floor in guilt. He swallowed, then glanced at his mother again.

"Sorry, mum. I didn't think about it like that."

"Yeah. Me neither. We promise we'll be good to him from now on." Adam agreed.

She nodded, and went back to cooking breakfast. They offered to help her with no hesitation, as they wanted to make up for what they did.

Nawal accepted their help nonchalantly, thinking about what she was planning to do that day.

And it seemed like there weren't too many options.
