FINN STARED AT THE BOARD CARELESSLY, remembering the night it all happened. He wasn't focusing on the lesson at all, because it seemed unimportant at that second, but the teacher couldn't care less.
As Jack and Jeremy were packing their bags, Finn entered their room and began to beg them not to leave.
"Guys, you don't understand, I seriously need your help right now.." He began.
"So what ? You brought us here so you can fix your reputation, and then ours was magically ruined. Then you tell me that we were haunted by a ghost this whole time ?! I can't fucking believe I trusted you ! I can't even believe.." Jack scolded, dozing off to the idea that he was practically in love with his best friend.
"How was I supposed to know, Jack ?! I'm not a magician, am I ? I really had no idea.."
"Oh yeah ? I'm not a magician either, but it's not-"
However, the threesome stopped talking as soon as they heard the blood-curdling scream that came from one of the rooms next to the one they were in.
Jack gave a mortified look to his friends before they stepped towards the doorframe, clearly confused. They heard Mal's shaky voice, calling Pilot's name as she realized that her best friend went to her room to grab something a few minutes earlier. Finn saw his girlfriend pass by their room.
"Mal, is everything alright ?" He asked gently, glancing at her direction. He saw Mal opening the door to Pilot's room, and screaming in shock.
The three boys ran towards her and saw the most horrifying scene of their life.
Pilot was pinned to the wall, with a knife stuck to her heart and blood rapidly pouring out. Her eyes had the empty, lifeless expression that gave away that she was dead. Mal screamed her friend's name again, covering her mouth with her palm. Finn had the same expression as he saw the scene. He couldn't believe his own eyes for the first time ever.
The boy shook off the memory, trying to focus on something else, but the teacher had fallen asleep, and it gave a chance for Trevor to bully him more.
"I bet he's thinking about sex." The bully remarked, earning a few giggles from the rest of the class. Finn ignored them, still completely lost at the memory. He continued to stare into nothing, still trying desperately to forget. To shake it off somehow.
He didn't want to remember. At all. The memory hurt so much.
But he couldn't stop thinking about it.
His breath hitched as he ran his hand through his curly hair, deeply in thought. He thought he heard someone pointing at him and cackling loudly.
That was it. That was his cue to leave.
He got up as quickly as possible, and left the room.
He was met by the sight of the empty hallway while he walked towards a random locker, leaning his head against it, letting out heavy breath, struggling to keep his tears inside his brown eyes.
Why did everything have to be so hard ?
The next thing he heard was a soft sound of footsteps walking towards him.
He looked up to see the principal of the school, Mr Holland, staring at him with sympathy.
"Finn Wolfhard ? I need to see you in my office now."
