FINN'S EYES WERE FILLED WITH TEARS AT THE MEMORY.

"I-I was only.." He shut his eyes closed, trying to remember what happened next.

He saw the unconscious -and probably dead- bodies of his best friends, and he knew it was over. She had left him alive on purpose to keep the story going. So he can tell the world how she killed them all that night -and see if anyone would believe him.

He ran towards his soulmate, seeing blood flood out of his neck. He took his jacket off, then tried to stop the bleeding by pressing it against the wound.

"B-Babe, stay with me, please. P-Please come on.." He muttered, his heart aching as he saw her eyes roll back into her head, declaring that she was dead as well.

"No- come on, babe, don't give up on me. Please don't leave me- I need you here, I can't do this without you..! I can't do this..-" He leaned his head against hers, tears of desperation streaming down his face as he let out soft, muffled sobs.

"Gosh, I'm so sorry.."

The next thing he heard were police sirens.

-

He was taken by nurses out of the abandoned house, towards an ambulance. He wiped his tears away and kept silent, even though it wasn't working, because all he wanted to was sob his heart out.

Mal's family showed up a few moments later, just when Mal's corpse was being covered with a white sheet. Nawal covered her mouth with her palm in shock, then began letting out ugly sobs as she ran towards her, calling her name and saying things in Arabic Finn couldn't understand. That was when they all broke down, including him.

"If I ever see you again, I will kill you. Do you fucking hear me ? I will kill you." Rajwan threatened Finn as soon as he stopped crying. Finn shook his head as he let out a sob, muttering heartbreaking apologies over and over.

The memory made Finn, yet again, break down into tears.

"I'm so goddamned sorry.. It was all my fault."

He glanced into Nawal's eyes, only to find her tearing up just like him. She didn't seem at all infuriated. She seemed as kind as ever.

"It was never your fault, Finn.. I was just trying to find out what happened to my daughter, that's all. Not to see if it was your fault or not.. I never doubted you for a second." She assured, wiping away her tears. Finn did the same, giving her a small, fake smile. He took his sight off her, staring into nothing as he thought.

"You know what I wanted to do ? I wanted to sing mine and Mal's favourite song in the talent show next weekend. But the idea seems stupid now." The boy said suddenly after a few moments of uncomfortable silence, glancing at the mother. Nawal thought for a moment, before she gave him a warm smile.

"No, it's not. You should do it. I'll be there to cheer for you. And the others, of course."

Finn's fake smile turned into a real, sincere one. Nawal stood up and stretched her hand out, making him reach for it in hesitation.

"Come on. Let's go to garage, so you can show me the song you're going to sing. I really want to hear it."
