FINN WALKED TOWARDS THE DOOR, ready to leave, but was quickly stopped by Nawal, who began whispering something in his ear.
Finn nodded, and went upstairs with her, towards a room he never thought he would enter again.
Mal's room.
His heart pounded in his chest as they entered. Nawal stood by the door, staring at him while he slowly walked to the center of the room.
"Here. Take something that would make you feel confident today. I really am trying to help you."
He gave her a small smile as he stared at the room. It was really tidy, because Mal didn't like the mess- she said that it made her nervous.
He gazed at the library she had. Stacks of books covered the first two shelfs.
A special book caught his eyes. It was a book his girlfriend liked very much. Before I fall. By Lauren Oliver.
Mal didn't get to finish it before she passed, but he could finish it for her. He reached for the book and hugged it close to his chest.
"Oh, you picked this ? Nice choice. Now let's go."
He obeyed, and followed her to the minivan the family owned. He climbed into the seat next to the brothers, who gave him an unnoticed glare.
Then, Nawal lit up the engine, and began to drive.

The siblings walked through the hallway, followed by Finn trailing behind. Everybody stared at him, making him feel anxious. He bit his lip while he walked with Luna towards his locker.
"Okay. Here's your locker. I have to go to class now, so text me when you reach yours." She said finally before she ran off. Finn thought that she didn't want to be seen around him, but again, he didn't blame her.
He entered the code and opened his locker, putting his books inside, including the book he had picked from Mal's room. He thought it would be safer there.
Just as he was about to close his locker, he heard people passing by, whispering something while giggling.
"Oh look at how desperate he is. He looks so stupid."
He glanced around him in confusion. Surely they're not talking about him, right ?
No one else was around.
He then picked up his backpack, and went to his classroom as quickly as possible.
He saw an empty desk at the back, and hurried towards it, trying his best to ignore the other students' giggling. As soon as he sat down, the teacher walked in elegantly.
"Hello, students. Today we have a new student. Is your name Finn ?"
He nodded, not looking at her. He heard a few people whispering as she said his name.
"Would you like to introduce yourself ?"
He shook his head.
"Okay then, let's start." She then began to explain the lesson. Finn could barely listen, because all he could hear is the students making unnecessary comments about him.
Gosh, he wanted this day to end. So bad.
He wanted people to stop staring at him.
He was getting more and more anxious every minute. His heart was beating fast. He took a firm grip on his desk, squeezing the wood in attempt to relieve the terrible feeling inside him. But it wasn't working.
Nope. It wasn't.
