I was beyond excited to get to the station today. I was practically skipping through the door. When I picked my head up, the whole team was staring at me.
"Leon, what's gotten into you?" I stared back at them.
"Meeting in the conference room in ten. I have big news." I walked into my office, pouring some coffee. I jumped to a knock on my door. I waved officer Luis in.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" I gave him a blank stare. He seemed to know me better than I knew myself.
"I have news for the case."
"Who's the lucky lady?" I felt my cheeks begin to turn red.
"God damnit, Luis. How do you always know?" I smiled. Even though he was newer, I got along with him the best out of everyone. He took his job seriously. He also had a thing for me from day one, until finding out I liked women. I think he still had a thing for me, but acted more like a brother now.
"It's not that great, actually." His face turned serious.
"Oh no, Leon. Are you falling for the killer." I bowed my head, ashamed. I couldn't help it.
"You'll understand more once I fill the team in. Then we can talk, okay?" He nodded, turning towards the door.
"Luis." He turned back towards me.
"Yeah?"
"No one is to know, got it?"
"Have I ever let you down?" He smiled, leaving the room. I grabbed my coffee and headed down the hall to the conference room. The whole team was there, including Talia. She could help me brief the team.
"Good morning, guys."
"Good morning, Leon." The team replied back.
"I'm sorry I didn't fill you in on this, but agent Talia and I went under cover last night. We found a blog who we believe is owned by the suspect. Talia got in touch with this girl, Abby, and met with her at Java Bean. I tagged along, sitting at a different table. Talia got some good information out of Abby, and lucky for me, she dropped her phone as she was leaving. I took this to my advantage, luring her in. She brought me back to her apartment and filled me in on her blog. I was actually the one who brought it up, and she was willing to talk about it. It came down to her asking me if I was scared, and she told me she wasn't going to kill me. I think this is some good information."
"So basically she has a thing for women and only kills men?" One of the officers spoke up.
"It seems that way, but I'm not sure yet. If you've noticed, all the victims are men." The team looked at me confused.
"Guys, this is good. We know where she lives, we have a blog to read up on to learn about her." Officer Luis spoke up.
"Exactly, Luis. I also have her phone number that we can try to track later. Maybe that'll lead us to where she will strike next. Okay guys, I want you patrolling the streets. I need some of you to read through this blog. Luis and I will track her phone. Let's go!" The officers cleared the room. It was just Talia, Luis and I. Talia and Luis stared at me. I knew why; Talia was a close family friend, and as I said before, Luis knew me better than I knew myself.
"I'm assuming you had a good night?" Talia said, still staring at me. I just nodded, not really wanting to explain myself. Talia glared at me as she walked out looking disappointed.
"You're disappointed to, aren't you?" I said, looking at Luis.
"I mean, it's not everyday your Sargent falls for a serial killer."
"I get it, but enough of this. Let's go track her phone."

I threw on some high rise cut off shorts with a bright pink crop top. I threw my hair into a messy bun and headed out the door. When I arrived at Java Bean, Sean wasn't there, so I took a seat at my usual table, watching the crowds as they walked by.
"Hey there, beautiful." A smile appeared on my face. I turned my head thinking it was Sean, but I was sadly mistaken. In front of me stood Nico.
"Go away, Nico. I'm not in the mood."
"But you had a smile."
"I thought you were someone else," I said, turning away. Nicks head dropped as he turned and started walking away. I felt my phone vibrate against my butt. I hadn't even noticed I left it in my back pocket. I pulled it out, glancing gather name that popped up, a smile reappeared.

Sean- sorry, beautiful. Running a bit late. Be there soon.

Abby- take your time xoxo
