I was already at Panino's at a table waiting for Stacy to arrive. I saw her blonde hair nearing the top of the booth. She made her way to the table, sitting across from me.
"Nice to see you, Stephanie. I hope all has been well."
"I'm sure you know, Stacy, that I was fired from the department, so it could be better."
"I do know, and I'm sorry. When this all went into play, I didn't think it would be you losing your job."
"Sorry to interrupt, ladies, but can I take your order, or do you need another minute?" A young woman stood before us, looking at us, waiting.
"I'll have the small Caesar salad," Stacy said.
"I'll have the steak, please." I smiled at the young lady as she walked away.Stacy hadn't said anymore about me losing my job, but the questions were still swimming through my mind. She had been telling me about al the cases she had been working on. Finally, she stopped talking, and it was my chance.
"Stacy, what did you mean you didn't think it would be losing my job?" She put her fork down, taking a long pause before speaking.
"I honestly thought it would be Luis. Although you were the one who haves the orders, he still pursued the warrant and the arrest, even if he didn't agree with it. If he really had a probably with him, he would have gone to your lieutenant."
"Was he the one who got me fired?"
"I believe he mentioned something. When I had talked to the lieutenant, he wasn't going to fire anybody right then. He wanted to talk to people first to find out what happened. After he talked to Luis, he had a decision."
"So Luis persuaded him?"
"It's possible. I know Luis was unhappy with just being an officer. He probably used his charm to show that he could be a better Sargent than you were, which ultimately led to you being fired."
"Why wouldn't he just demote me?"
"That I'm not sure. Luis must have said a lot to bring him to that decision." I was set back. I couldn't believe Luis would do that to me.Stacy and I finished our lunch and made our way out to the cars.
"Thanks for having lunch with me, Stacy. I really needed that."
"Not a problem, Stephanie. You were always my favorite at the department." I small smile escaped as I could feel my face getting red. Stacy smiled and got into her car, driving away.****
I watched Sean as he slept. Even though we were together now, I couldn't stop thinking about the fact that he had been sleeping with other woman while we were hanging out. It angered me. Sean was a heavy sleeper, luckily. I got out of bed grabbing his phone. I knew it was wrong of me to look at his phone. I was suppose to trust him, but I couldn't anymore. I needed to know if he was serious about us. I took a deep breath before opening his inbox. My jaw dropped at the sight. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Tammy- hey baby, when can I see you again?
Celina- pooh! Give me a call when you get a chance. I miss you.
Samantha- Sean, we need to talk. Something serious is going on. What if I'm pregnant? I don't want to scare you, but please call me.
Who the fuck were all these women? I really wanted to text them all back, but I knew Sean would realize what was going on. I set his phone back where it was, crawling back into bed. I leaned in close to Sean's ear.
"I will find out what you're doing." Sean moved a bit.
"What was that, Abby?" He said in his sleepy voice.
"Oh nothing, baby. Go back to bed." I kissed his cheek. Physically I would show him what he wanted to see; mentally I would plan what I was going to do.
----------------------------------------------What do you think is going to happen? There will be a huge twist in the next chapter! I think there might only be two or three chapters left of the book. Don't forget to comment and rate!!
