(A/N: Typically when I think of Dreamtale or Dreamswap, etc. I think that it's more put in the past. So no cars, no electronics, etc. Y'know?)

"I'll give you 150G for that" The dealer said, popping a mint into his mouth.

"That's not enough" You hiss. His lazy smile vanishes. "200G."  You say sternly.

"That's not worth that much. 170."

"190."

"180. Final answer." He laid back in his old wooden chair. You rolled your eyes. It was enough you supposed.

"Fine." You plopped down the necklace. His smile returned as he scooped up the necklace.

"Pleasure doin' business with ya" He threw a leather bag across the counter at you. Catching it flawlessly you turned on your heel and headed out of the establishment without a word. You pulled on your hood and headed down the dark, grimy alleyway. It was a late, slow night. People walked past you without word or even a glance. You scurried down another alleyway and into the light of the moon. Observing your surroundings you fast-walked down a hill, into a quiet neighborhood, away from the city. It wasn't crowded. Only a few people lived there, including yourself.

You stuck your key into the lock and twisted, revealing a dimly lit hallway. The moonlight casted shadows on the walls, dust floated around. The cold air trapped inside your house mixed with the hot heat of the summer night. You could hear an owl hoot in the distant forest.

"Home sweet home" You say, almost under your breath. Heading inside, you plopped down the bag of currency and your hooded cape that you draped around your shoulders earlier. You flung yourself into one of your arm chairs. It was cushioned, with cushioned arms as well. It was covered in dust that you never bothered to dust off. (No, not THAT kind of dust) You exhaled. A kind of mix between relief and irritation. You leaned back into the plush cushion. "All that work, just for 180G." Not a lot of people wear jewelry around these poor parts of the city. It was easy to steal, but to brush by them, swiftly unlock the tiny lock and pull it off their neck without getting caught is stressful. You tilted your head to look at the small leather pouch filled with gold that laid on the small wooden, yet beautifully carved table next to you. What's worse is that THAT was all you were able to make today. 180G. You groaned, standing up. It was at that moment you got a whiff of yourself and almost gagged. "Maybe I should shower before I do anything else..." You said aloud.

The shower was warm and helped you relax from tad bit of stress you were in. Scratch that, more than a tad  bit of stress. There was a lot on your mind these days. Not getting caught, debt, the Justice Reigns. Oh they were big shots around here. Known for stopping everyday robbers and villains around. Surely, they'd be hunting for you too if a local told them there was a robber in town. You probably weren't high on the list of wanted people but you know they like to help around a lot just to keep up their good reputation. Your eyes rolled at the thought of them.

"They're all  the same." You say to yourself as you stirred a spoon into your tea. "Every big shot 'hero' is the same. Only doing things just to keep up their reputation of being a good person. Everyone's flawed." That was your point of view on it. You could have been a hero too or maybe just something simpler like policer officer. That, wasn't your style though. You took a small sip of your tea to check the temperature, immediately regretting it as your sensitive taste buds swelled and quivered. Everyone either was terrible at their job or did it for glory.

Right?

The hot sun beat down on you as you ran.
