Happy Late Mother's Day guys! As promised, Chapters 10, 11, and 12 have been posted!
Ben's POV
Once Erica woke up, and everyone was done yelling at me, I thought I would be able to explain. But then Cyrus had to call me. The call lasted three minutes of Cyrus yelling at me and me not making a peep. It was the longest, and scariest three minutes of my life. After that, I thought I was ready to explain. But no. Erica woke up and remembered what happened, then came forward to try and punch me. Luckily Alexander held her back and let me explain.
"Okay, so I think you all might be a little mad at me," I said sheepishly.
"A little!? A little is an understatement. You knocked out Erica!" Zoe yelled.
"Okay, but I did it for a reason."
"What reason? Go ahead we are all waiting." Zoe snapped back.
"Okay." I took a deep breath. " Remember when you forgot to tell me that Agent Lane and Agent Monroe were gone?"
"Wait, that doesn't sound like me at all," Erica said.
"Exactly, then I saw you rubbing your temples as if you had a headache. I realized I was right when I took a deep breath and when you forgot Agent Jones and Alexander were gone."
"Are you going to tell us what you were right about?" Mike said.
"Yes. I'm getting there. When I took a deep breath I smelled flowers. But not any flower, it was a Mulchagan flower. You somehow got the Mulchagan poison in your system. It can cause memory loss and headaches."
Erica seemed disappointed. "How could I not notice that?"
"Well, Mulchagan poison does cause memory loss and it probably messed up your brain a bit." Mike said. We all looked at him, "What? I learned it in Poisons Class."
Erica seemed to realize something, "Oh, so that's why you knocked me out."
"Yeah, I remembered in Poisons Class if you rest at least 24 hours before the poison takes over your body you should be back to normal. But knowing you, I knew that there was no way I'd get you to sleep that long on a mission. So I knocked you out."
"By the way, where are we?" Erica said, finally realizing we weren't on the plane anymore.
"Well, Alexander booked a hotel in Dubai as soon as we got off the plane," I said.
"What about the people on the plane?" Erica asked.
"Don't worry Zoe took care of them," I said.
"Yeah, as soon as everyone was looking at us, I went up and said, 'Thank you all for paying attention to a short example of the play we are doing called Fighting Crime.' I told them we were doing a survey to see if people liked the idea and one lady said, 'Oh that felt so real. Definitely looking forward to the play.'" Zoe said mimicking the lady with a high-pitched voice.
"Well that's the lamest excuse ever, but if it worked, I guess I owe you a," She whispered under her breath, "Thank you."
"What was that, Erica?" Chip said.
"I know you guys heard me darn well, so don't make me hurt you," Erica said.
"Okay, chill." Chip said.
"What was that?" Erica said.
"Nothing."
I heard Jawa whisper to Chip, "Never, and I mean never, tell Erica to 'chill'."
"So what now?" Alexander asked.
Erica rolled her eyes. "Obviously, we plan out how we want this mission to go."
