Rescuing Eren

No much far from here, we spotted her. She was running, at a pace slower than usual. 

"Do you think he is alive?" Levi asked. It was a question I myself didn't want to ask. "He is alive" escapes from my mouth. I myself didn't know whether he was, but now, since I said it, I'll believe it. "He is alive" I said loud and clear. "Fine". He looked towards me, "For now, we change our goal to Eren". We are risking a lot, yet I'll do anything for Eren. I whispered to myself, "You should've taken more care of him". I looked in Levi's direction and noticed he heard everything. He came in front of me examining me. Then he said, "So you are the closest friend, Eren talked about." I blushed so bad, that I quickly passed him in order to distract myself to attack the Female Titan. "Ackerman" Levi called while grabbing me, trying to stop me. "I am here for you, but please will you stop?" he said to me. I slowed down for a while, while he was reading her moments, or probably thinking something. Then he ordered, "Go and distract her, I'll attack her".

I go near its legs trying to distract her, but I guess she understood our motive. She was waiting for a perfect moment. I looked up and saw Levi staring her, as if he is scanning her and her movements. I see he took one blade in his hand. Now its time to see Levi in live action. Lets see why people call him 'Humanity's Strongest'.

There was an uneven tension rising. I had a bad feeling, but it wasn't related to Eren. I don't know what I felt. Suddenly, the Female Titan moved backward and tried to punch Levi. It appeared Levi was prepared and was expecting things to go this way. He quickly rolled, like a tyre moving along with blades fixed on it, cutting her skin, then he pierced the blades into her eyes. Then he changed his blades mid-air, and started cutting routes on her skin. He was moving so fast that she wasn't having time to harden her skin.

Then I saw her unarmed nape. I assumed she's pretty exhausted so she won't stop her, I charged there.

Suddenly she raised her hand. I thought I will get caught. Suddenly, a hand came and pulled me. It was Levi. He changed my direction in the correct time, but I saw his leg hurting.

Probably his ankle twisted. He was in pain, but he didn't let it come on his face. He adjusted his blades, aimed for the Titan's jaws, went past it cutting its jaw. There he was, Eren. Levi took him and grappled to a tree far away.

I followed him.

He was in pain. It was clearly visible. I wanted to say something, the guilt in me wanted me to pick him up, but I couldn't. Finally I broke the silence, "Give me Eren, you might be in pain." He replied coldly, "Don't worry, your special friend won't fall". I sensed a bit of mockery. I was angry for a moment, but then I remembered his current condition was because of my carelessness. 

As soon as we reached the Quarters, medical team arrived. They took Eren. Levi didn't go. Instead he went to Erwin's chamber. I was tensed for Eren but Armin assured me that medical team will look after him. I sighed. Suddenly, I looked at my legs which reminded of Levi. I went in search of him.

I met Hanji. "Hanji do you know where is Levi?" she looked in my direction for a few seconds. "Ah! He is with Erwin since he arrived." "Ok Thanks". I left for Erwin's chamber. I knocked. "Who's there?" Erwin asked. "Mikasa Ackerman, sir" I replied. "Ok come in." I entered and saluted. "At ease" he replied. "Now say". "I came here to ask whether Levi Heichou has gone to Infirmary or not." "Why would he go there?" he questioned. "In our mission to save Eren from the Female Titan, Heichou's ankle got twisted and he may be in need of medical attention." I replied boldly. "I don't need any attention. You may go." Levi cut me off before speaking anything further. Erwin said to Levi, "She isn't wrong Levi. You must go. Plus you didn't tell me anything related to your leg. You informed me of damages suffered by our people but you didn't speak anything of yourself."

"I didn't require."

"What if Petra was here and she learnt about your pain?" Erwin questioned him. "I wouldn't have listened to her as well" Levi answered with an unbothered expression. "Fine" Erwin said giving up. Then he turned to me. "Ms. Ackerman, would you mind calling Hanji with her first aid." I nodded in affirmation. "So you are calling Hanji for this petty injury?" Levi questioned Erwin. "If you won't go to the Infirmary, I have to do this. I can't let any of my soldier to suffer, including you. Plus I give you leave for one or two weeks until you become fit again." "I don't need leave Erwin" Levi replied. "Its an order." Erwin said in a serious tone. Levi sighed "Fine. Ackerman call four-eyes". I nodded in affirmation, saluted and left.

Now I was thinking why Levi was acting so child-like like this. More on that, he didn't accused me of anything. I knew it was my fault and I should've been scolded, instead he dismissed me as if nothing happened. Whatever. I went to search Hanji. She was in her Biology Lab with Sawney and Beane. "Hey Mikasa" she waved. I replied "Hey. I was searching for you." She replied, "Yes?" I told her everything occured between Levi and Erwin. She was serious now. "I guess I understand why he is acting like this". I asked, "Why?" She told come we'll talk while walking.
