Chapter 3

Snow Leopard

Snow Leopard stomped through the halls to his next class. Herbs and Healing had been a absolute bore to him. Kinkajou just talked and talked about injuries and some random plants that lived in the rainforest or something. Snow Leopard didn't care one bit. He looked down at the packet he was holding, it told him his next class was library. It also showed a small, but detailed map how to get there. 'But remember', it said, 'library is not a class but a quiet reading time. Also if you are hungry you may use this time to eat. We encourage you to read for about 20-30 minutes a day. More if you can!'

Snow Leopard did not have time for this. He was to get this stupid school over with and go home to the Ice Kingdom. There he would climb his way up the rankings because he dropped so low after, after, he didn't want to talk about it. After he was at the top he wanted to become an IceWing General. General Snow Leopard. That sounded right. Not 'Snow'. That was what that talkative NightWing called him. She was worse than Kinkajou.

He turned around the corner to see huge library. With shelves of books and books and books. Three dragonets were already there. The blue SeaWing, the thoughtful SkyWing, and the smiling talkative NightWing. At least this one can't read minds. Snow Leopard thought.

"Snow! You ran off right after class! You're lucky we don't have homework on our first day! But I would bring it for you!" Amethyst said. Argh, that Nightwing is so annoying. Snow Leopard thought. 

"Amethyst, Falcon and I are going to check out the Darkstalker scrolls. Wanna come?" the SeaWing asked. "Nah, I like adventure scrolls! Ones where it seems like all hope is lost but then a brave, heroic hero comes to save the day!" Amethyst said. "Okay, we'll be over there if you need us." the SeaWing said, pointing to a section of the library. "Pfft, like I need help!" Amethyst said and walked over to another section of the library. 

Snow Leopard waited till the others were engulfed in scrolls and then started edging towards the geography scrolls. He didn't let it show, but he was always fascinated by geography scrolls. One of his old and very stupid dream was to fly to the so called 'lost continent'. Now he knew that it was a stupid dream. But still he couldn't help but wonder about the lost continent. 

Snow Leopard was destined to be a famous general of the IceWing army. He asked his parents, 'why do we need armies if we're not at war?'. Their answer was always, "Don't ask questions, and you will find out when you're older". And still Snow Leopard didn't know why.

Once he was near the geography section, he stopped being careful and plopped down on a cushion nearby. He grabbed a geography scroll. It was called 'Geography of the cold and icy Ice Kingdom'. He took one look at it and shoved right back into the bookshelf. 

"Why are you so angry?" A voice asked. Snow Leopard looked around and saw a SandWing next to him. He jumped but quickly straightened his posture. "None of your business." Snow Leopard said. "I think it is." the SandWing said and reach for the crumpled scroll. "Who're you?" Snow Leopard asked. "You don't know? Oh, well that's sad." And with that the SandWing whisked out of the library.

Snow Leopard thought about following, but instead picked up another scroll and started to read.

I know, I know. I ended this one horribly. The reason why is literally because I couldn't think of something else to happen.
