Snow Leopard

It had been two days since Snow Leopard had his telepathic conversation with Desert. He was actually kind of missing the slightly evil SandWing. Though he didn't want to admit it.

A lot had happened in those days. Mudfly and I had a new 'master'. Who was much more violent. Her name was Rattlesnake. That's right. Qibli's sister, Rattlesnake. It surprised me how they could be siblings.

Anyways, Rattlesnake had quickly put Moon, Turtle, Kinkajou, and Winter under her control. They were all her puppets, even the other students. All I could do was hope. Hope that Amethyst, Violet, Saphira and Falcon had gotten away. And could stop this.

Violet

"I CAN'T BELIEVE WE HAD TO LEAVE THEM!!" Amethyst yelled, while pacing around. "Shhh." I say. I grabbed Amethyst and tugged her back into the shadowy trees. We had just escaped Emerald Academy last night and were now taking refuge in the outskirts of it.

"We can risk Rattlesnake hearing you." Saphira said to Amethyst. "Ugh. I know. I hate feeling like we could have saved them." Amethyst said. "I feel the same way." I say. "But we have to move on. Its not like stomping around cursing is going to stop Rattlesnake. We need a plan."

"That's right. But how are we going to make one if we don't know anything about them!!" Amethyst exclaimed.

"I might be able to help with that." said a tired voice behind us. We all spun around to see Desert. She was leaning on a tree trunk for support. She had blood and scratches all over her. Instinctively we all went into a fighting stance.

"Don't worry." she said, raising her talons. "I'm not here to fight you."

"Alright..." Falcon said nervously. I could see he was visibly shaking.

"For the plan you need to know everything." Desert starts. She sighs. "It's time for you to hear the whole story."

"My father, actually adopted father was a criminal mastermind." Desert said.

"Wait, adopted father?" Amethyst asks. I shoot her a glare and she shuts up. Desert ignores Amethyst and goes on.

"He sat in the shadows planning his moves carefully. Over the years he had brought together tons of lone criminals to form one huge underground criminal organization. The Shadow Stalkers. Have any of you seen this symbol?" Desert asks. She shows us a torn piece of black cloth with an embroidered yellow twisted symbol on it.

Something tugged at the edge of my brain. A memory.

******Violet's Memory/Flashback******

I was flying through the rainforest. It was beautiful. The past days rain left behind dew that sparkled in the sunlight. I swerved between the trees gracefully. It was amazing. I never wanted it to end.

Suddenly I saw a black figure shuffling near a tree trunk. My scales instinctively switched to camouflage. I sat on the closest branch I could sit on without the dragon noticing anything was wrong.

I leaned in for a closer look. The dragon was carving something into the trunk. After the dragon was gone, I got down to take a look at the message. There I saw it.

******End of Violet's Memory/Flashback******

The same twisted symbol! Except it also had some sort of code under it.

"Violet?" asked a voice. "Do you think she's dead?" A worried voice asked, most likely Falcon. I heard a thwack and then an "Ow!". My eyes popped open.

"Thank goodness." Amethyst let out a sigh of relief. "What happened?" Saphira asked me. Falcon was standing a good space away from us, probably afraid he was gonna be hit again.

"I-I remembered something." I say. Desert stood up and walked towards my, actually she was limping. "What? Tell me." Desert said, sticking her snout in my face. I edged away. I explained to them what I had remembered.

Desert sighed and limped back to the tree stump she was sitting on before. "Just when I thought my adoptive Father could not gain any more allies." Desert said to herself.

"Do you have a plan?" I ask. "It's a work in progress." Desert answered. "Well what is it?" Amethyst asks. Desert showed us her arm. She had a gold bracelet on with a black stone in the middle.

"Skyfire." Amethyst said softly. "It's used to block out mind readers, right?" Saphira said. Desert nodded.

"But this is not normal. You see, my dad tinkered with it a little. Now it can help free dragons from the mind control." Desert explained. "That's great! Why didn't you tell us earlier?" Amethyst burst out.

"There's a problem though. My stone can only help one or two dragons, to free them all we need the main one." Desert said. "Well, where is the main one?" I ask.

"In my father's main base. The Snake's Lair."
