Later when they got back home, Izuku opened the door to his All Might themed room and sighed heavily. All he could see when he looked at the smiling face he once felt comforted by is the same smile twisted by anger bearing down upon him with a closed fist.
His mother came to stand at his side and leaned against the door frame. They stood there in silence for a beat to take it in, and then Inko did something unexpected.
"Want to burn some of it?" She asked. And Izuku had never liked an idea more in his life. They looked at each other with signature Midoriya evil grins, and the rest is history.
That night, they packed trash bags full of all of his All Might merchandise he had once cherished and toted it off to Dagobah Municipal Beach. They set up a little fire on some old wooden pallets and had themselves a nice All Might roasting session that lasted until early in the dark morning.
It felt poetic to them. Bringing something once so cherished to finally rest amongst the detritus and garbage in the form of ash. It felt right.
The next day, they decide that he shouldn't go back to school. After he told his mother that Bakugou had been the one to break his nose and give him the burn on his shoulder, she had decided it was justified to pull him out of that god-awful place. But not before viciously tearing into his Principle and teachers. Angry Inko was a terrifying Inko.
Of course, they tried to expel him instead. After all, he had knocked their precious star student unconscious. In all honesty, after everything that had happened, he had totally forgotten. They settled by giving him two marks on his record. Bakugou got no punishment.
It had been nearly a week of going through the motions since the Day From Hell, as they were calling it when their phone rang. It was a detective calling about the sludge villain incident. Izuku had yet to give a statement. Both Midoriya's flinched when he requested they come into the police station to clear some things up. This could stir up quite the fuss.
Both his mother and he traveled to the Musutafu police station later that day. Upon arriving, they were met with a very polite cat-headed officer who introduced himself as Sansa.
"Good afternoon, Mrs. Midoriya. We just have some routine questions to go over with your son to clear some things up. If all goes well, you should be out of here in no more than thirty minutes." Sansa said while leading them through the office.
They came to a stop at a relatively plain room with a table that had two men sitting at it. Not quite an interrogation room, but not quite an office either. One man had short brown hair and kind eyes and a badge that indicated him as a detective. He stood up and walked towards them with a smile.
"Hello, my name is Naomasa Tsukauchi. I am a detective, and I have been assigned to your incident to clear up some things. It shouldn't be long. Please have a seat." He said and turned back to the table.
Izuku didn't move. Neither did his mother, actually.
"Who the hell is that guy?" Izuku asked and pointed to the other man, who did not bother to introduce himself.
The detective flinched and looked at Izuku's mother, who only raised an eyebrow in a "you heard him" gesture.
The blonde man, who could easily be mistaken for a skeleton or a homeless dude, stood up reluctantly after Tsukauchi seemingly flashed him a look that Izuku couldn't see.
"Hello, my name is Yagi Toshinori. I am All Might's secretary, my boy. They need me here as a representative of sorts." He finished and sat back down, looking embarrassed. He looked like even the faintest breeze would blow him over. Guess the bastard couldn't even pay his secretary enough to afford a decent meal.
