The entire car ride seemed rather short, but Izuku reckoned that that was because he was busy sharing gentle conversation with the entities inside his head. They were good at keeping his mind off the more depressing side of things.
"I did forget to mention this, child." Nemesis's voice echoed in his mind.
"It's nothing really to be concerned about, just something to watch out for. Because of your bond to us, you may begin to develop some physical attributes that align more with ours." She said. Izuku was about to panic at the thought of growing horns or a tail of some sort when she eased his fear.
"No, no, nothing like that." She laughed. "Soon, you will most likely start to grow taller at a rapid rate. You are quite puny at the moment, but you should expect to grow quite a bit in the coming months." She explained. He chose to ignore the jab at his small stature in favor of wondering just how tall she was talking.
"You won't grow tall enough to set you apart from your fellow humans, but you'll certainly be easy to spot. I'm not sure how much you'll truly grow, so we'll have to keep tabs on it. Maybe you'll even be able to reach the middle shelves by next month." She said playfully, and the two youngest of the immortals snickered at the mental glare he sent her way. Leviathan was the next to speak up.
"While we have you at the moment, this would probably be a good opportunity to talk about some things that the five of us were discussing amongst ourselves earlier." He said. Izuku felt their moods shift to something more serious.
"Leviathan is correct." Nemesis spoke. "You remember us telling you about how we all have seals of power to offer you, however, there are more than just those." She said, her tone serious.
"We have done some thinking about how your quirk, as you call it, truly functions. While it is possible for us to hear the cries of the wronged from many galaxies away, none of those who we have heard have been able to form a bond with us on the level you have. We simply hear the call, travel to the destination, and hunt down those responsible for the calamity. After some discussion, research, and theorizing between the five of us, we have settled on an analogy for your quirk. Your civilization uses electricity to power your devices, and you use power lines to carry it across great distances. Your quirk is like a power line connecting you to us. When we heard your despair, your quirk latched on to us and formed the bond we now have. The five of us could be compared to a power station, and you could be compared to a device that uses the electricity we provide." Nemesis paused so he could take in the information.
That...actually made a lot of sense to him. For someone who usually obsessed over quirks, he'd almost completely forgotten to think about his own after everything had happened. She seemed to hesitate before Reaper picked up where she left off.
"What our dear leader is trying to say while coming back to the topic of seals, is that if you were to attempt to use some of our ultimate seals right off the bat, your limbs would likely explode off of your body and you would die a most painful death." Izuku grew nervous at that statement but felt the being's playful smirk through the bond. Not concerning at all.
"...Actually, now that I think of it, you might not die. There's a chance you would be able to use our power to regenerate instead. It's possible that as long as you have a connection to us, we'd be able to use our power to revive you in an emergency. That would be a good point to explore, later on, be sure to write that bit down." Reaper said, almost excited. Izuku was only mildly disturbed at that last bit.
