The battle was over but the war never ended, it was an endless circle of corruption and deceit. It tragic to know that what we risk our lives for never really ended especially when we lost one of our own

One of my best friends, I like fo call her the front liner, our fire fighter, fierce, courageous, dauntless Marie.

Its been three months but her death still takes a toll on all of us, she died for a good cause but did she deserve to die..... Of course not.

She was barely 23,and she had experienced well more than anyone her age, sometimes I wish I died instead of her..... Knowing how much of a coward I was when she got out of the car to defend those girls when the authorities were about to hand them over to the same goons they had just escaped from.

I have been in therapy since she died trying to clear myself of the guilt, the pain, the struggle.... Nothing seem to have change especially when you turn on your TV and girls are still being abducted for sex trafficking all over the world.

Was all that for nothing. How many high tables are there in the world, just how many more have to die to end the injustice and despicable acts in the system.

We were just five justice seeking driven minded individuals trying to save the world from it unending chains of powerfully ruthless people of the world

We fought dirty, harder than we imagined. That didn't end well for us because we lost one of our own

I still remember vaguely what happened that day when sam went with Harvey to see El Rey, we were waiting outside the clinic for Spencer and the girls.

They were talking forever to come out but thankfully we have the CCTV cameras to guide us. Marie was pissed  that no one did an head count of the girls when they got out of the casino, instead of fifteen girls, there is only twelve of them inside the clinic.. Raina makes them thirteen, she was wondering where the other two were.

"We barely even made it out alive, gunshots was raining down on us from all directions. Sam checked every room, the other two were not there "
Raina explained

"But where could they be"

"I have no idea, everything happened so fast "

"If I was there I wouldn't have left anyone behind "

"What would you have done differently, You heard the girl everything was jammed. They did the best they could "

"The plan was to get everyone out, Not get some out and hand them over to the police.... so who's screwing the plans now "

"You are just being problematic Marie, 12 out of 15 is a good number in case you don't know  so instead of arguing why not just focus on what's important "

I wish I didn't argue with her, we have actually gotten close again in the last two days we spent in new York with Raina's mom.

She got really furious, I could tell she wanted to punch something or someone, so when the van finally moved with the girls, we trailed behind them not too close because I already placed a magnetic tracker on the van.

Somewhere on the bridge, they pulled over and before we could catch up We could already hear gunshots go off in the air..... 

Because the road was block we couldn't get through,people had ran away leaving their cars behind,  Marie jumped out of the car and was running towards them . I ran after her but I wanted to reach sam and call for help

By the time we got there, it was a deadpool.... The officers in the van were all laying died on ground except agent Finley who was standing . They had used their cars to block the road and attack them from inside
