The father and son let go of the hug they were previously in, they made brief eye contact and both chuckled at the sight of each other's red nose and eyes. Taehyung was going to use his sleeve to wipe away the tears falling down his face but Jimin decided to wipe them for him instead. Jungkook adored this moment of the duo infront of him and smiled before slowly asking, "Are we done crying now?"

They all giggled together again before helping each other get up. "I'm glad to see what is in store for me in the future, but I am still a bit confused, could you please give me a little bit of backstory as to how you even got here?" Jimin whined, a hint of frustration but mainly curiousity in his honey voice. Jungkook smiled before looking up into the night sky and explaining like some poet, "It started one night when I got in a fight with my parents for sneaking out with," he paused for a brief moment to look at the boy to his right. "Me!" Taehyung continued, too impatient to wait for Jungkook to continue. Jimin looked between the two and squinted his eyes, "I don't think that's something to be proud of!"

Jungkook nodded, "It really isn't. When I stormed into my room after the fight I started to form thoughts of rage, I decided right then and there I hated my parents and wanted to somehow make them be less strict. It sounds ridiculous, I know it is, anger really does some weird stuff to a person's thoughts!" He throws his arms into the air and rubs his face, obviously upset. Taehyung pat his back, knowing his bestfriend regretted that night.

"So I asked Taehyung to help me sneak into our school and Professor Yoongi's lab to access his time travelling portal," he eyes his cousin and bestfriend down as if he were apologizing. "Professor.. Yoongi?" Jimin repeats, confusion written all over his place. Taehyung nods, "Correct! Dad is a genius professor who teaches at our school."

Jimin's eyes grow wide as he gasps, "Wow! I know he is clever but I would never expect him to actually pursue teaching, he is going through some sort of emo phase as of now.." Jungkook laughs, agreeing with the older, "I nearly didn't recognize him when I first saw you two at the field! He was wearing a leather jacket with piercings and everything." He explains, expressing his shock by trailing his hands over where he saw the piercings on Yoongi and attempting to imitate the way he stood and looked.

Laughter once again fills the atmosphere of the peaceful night by the rural area, it was undoubtedly late by then so the moon shone brighter than ever with the company of it's little friends who look scattered everywhere yet are so far from anyone's reach. Fireflies have come out to play and crickets sing their song of glee by the greenery.

"Now here we are, stuck in this timeline with no idea how to get back home, concealing my true identity and wandering around. I miss home but I'm extremely terrified of what would happen when we get back," Jungkook sighs now feeling a rush of sadness and pain overtake his body.

Regret is one of the biggest agonies bestowed upon the human world, at some point everyone is forced to look back at a memory and wish to get a second chance to do something else. Whether it be to say or do something else, take back what was said or done, or avoid a situation, regret will always come after what was already done. The past is something unalterable. Everyone must move on and accept that there will be moments we feel remorse over. If not, a person will wallow in sorrow of the past for far too long and fail to appreciate what is to come in the future.

The boy attempted to change what was supposed to be a learning experience and blessing, but instead caused more affliction to not only himself but others as well.

That sounded a bit more like a lesson than I intended. It might come off as condescending but I assure you this is just your author exaggerating Jungkook's mistake to match the grief he's feeling~

This chapter is rather short, but after a busy month I'm taking it slow to recover and finally get back to writing consistently.

Once again, thank you so much for reading and for the support! <33
