[narrative]The cousins had been walking to Seokjin's place for a while when Jungkook faced the sky above once a curious drop of water landed right on his nose. Clouds were circling the skies and were probably preparing to burst already.
"It looks like it's about to rain, let's get to da... Seokjin's place quickly," I can never get used to that, he thought briefly. Taehyung raised his eyebrows as a small sign of agreement but not before addressing another of Jungkook's slips, "You don't have to keep calling him by his name, you know? We got into this mess together."
"I know. I still feel guilty of course. I practically begged you to help me with that anger-filled scheme of mine!" Their shoes glided across skillfully to avoid the small patches of mud starting to form as it was now raining lightly. Their arms were above their faces as a shield from the wetness. Still, they managed to converse with each other with ease.
"Well, I still agreed. And you clearly regret it now, it's never too late for sorry!" Taehyung continues as a motorcycle raced beside them and splashed a puddle of water on the road and barely missed the two almost comically. Jungkook blinked off the rain water irritating his eyelashes away as they jogged faster now while the rain was growing angrier.
"That's just the thing, I'm not so sure we can fix things now. My sorry may mean nothing!" Jungkook yelled, truthfully crushing all of Taehyung's phrases of optimism. Taehyung sighed as he was starting to get annoyed from the negativity engulfing his bestfriend's head, "Even if you flip all the timezones around in the world, they're still your parents who wanted you as their son. They'll understand."
"But-!" "Ai, YOU-!"
"You two are soaking wet!" A new voice cut off their little dispute (and luckily before Taehyung got the chance to shove some optimism into Jungkook's throat forcefully) and they looked to the direction of the owner. "Come in, come in! You must be freezing, what on earth made you think it's fine to run in the rain with no umbrellas?" Jin yapped while he let the two enter his apartment and ran inside to get some fresh towels. The two guests dried themselves off on the couch quietly while Jin went away to fetch something.
Just in time, Namjoon emerged from the kitchen with a piece of bread in his hand and chewing on a previously taken bite. "......Namjoon?" Jungkook gasped as he was clearly surprised to see the older at Seokjin's—only wearing shorts and all. Taehyung perked up and silently cheered, they could hit two birds at once now that both parents were present.
"Oh, Junki! And Junki's friend, uhm, sorry, I should... go change," Namjoon curtly greeted, nearly dropping his bread in shock when he saw the two youngsters before quickly speeding off to some other room. Jin came running inside once again now with a tray with two cups of hot tea on top. He set it down and signed to the two younger males to drink as he sat on the couch opposite where the Jungkook and Taehyung sat. Namjoon shortly followed and sat next to Seokjin, now in more appropriate clothes to be greeting guests.
"Ah, no.. I don't like tea, sorry. Have it instead," Jungkook politely refused the offer of the drink and visibly shook while sliding it to Jin. The older simply hummed and took it in his fingers.
"What brought you here?" Seokjin spoke first again, breaking the strange tension in the air calmly. Tae took one sip of his cup of tea while nudging Jungkook by the elbow to speak first. "This is my friend, Taehyung..." He spoke slowly and with caution, almost as if he was walking around a bomb.
"Oh, wow! You're really quite popular here. You've only been here for a few days and you're flooding with friends," Jin comments casually with a chuckle. Jungkook's palms starts sweating even more and he tries to laugh along while wiping his hands on his pants. Jungkook stutters, "I... I guess so!" He takes a deep sigh to compose himself before speaking once again, "But I haven't been very honest with you... like.. at all."
Namjoon's eyebrow raises at that, "Go on," he encourages with curiousity. Jungkook can't look at anyone in the eye as his fingers find themselves tangled with each other, "Do you believe in time travel?"
Unexpectedly, Jin snorts, absolutely ruining the rising tension, "You sound like Yoongi!" The silence afterwards made Taehyung's slurp of tea suddenly sound way too loud.
The youngest cleared his throat and finally raised his head, "I believe in time travel!"
Seokjin sips his own tea, "Mhm, interesting.." but he can't hide his smile behind the cup. Taehyung noticed how his eyes met Namjoon's for a brief moment and they smiled at the same time. Almost sparkling, their eyes, when they found each other.
Jungkook frowns as he senses he wasn't being taken seriously, "My name isn't Junki!" He grumbles quite loudly out of nowhere. The attention goes back to him naturally, making Jin ask, "Then, what is it?"
"I'm Jungkook," was the short answer. Namjoon's eyes went wide as the name cut through his mind like ice.
'Haven't I considered that a baby name before?'
Jin raises his left eyebrow, "Well nice to meet you, Jungkook, but it isn't much of a change," he had been expecting something big considering how the younger acted so nervous. He probably just had Junki as a nickname and Jungkook as his real name, honestly, kids these days! So dramatic—
"I'm your son from the future!"
Silence followed.
"You're dating, right?"
Seokjin spits his tea out.

I still hope to finish this book, it isn't the best, but it holds a special place in my own heart, so I hope some people have stayed as well! <3
