Yoongi stood there completely frozen, as if his entire body got struck with a gush of cold wind, causing his system to stop entirely. As the words sunk into his head, the more he realized the likeliness of the situation, but he didn't remain without his doubts. "You're not lying to me, are you?" He asked, calmer this time.Taehyung gave a small smile and he shook his head, "No, of course not."
He immediately was brought into his father's embrace, that was the moment he was filled with relief and joy. "....Son.." Yoongi whispered to himself, near the younger's ear, like he was trying to convince himself this was all real. "Yes, dad," Taehyung whispered back. Jungkook's heart filled with that same feeling he felt after seeing Taehyung reconnect with his other father last night, it was bittersweet.
Yoongi let go of the hug, "Did I adopt you?" He asked with genuine curiosity. "You created me, you genius."
The other male gasped, he was able to create life? The future professor stood there motionless again making Jungkook giggle, he knew his bestfriend wasn't adopted like himself, but he would not ask for any other scientific experiment for a cousin. Taehyung was taken from an egg cell donation, and the scientist's own sperm, with a lot of hardwork he was successfully able to have baby Taehyung develop without a womb and only Yoongi's own machines. Taehyung was his favorite experiment, for sure.
"Junki, thank you," it was not Suga speaking, it was Yoongi. "It's Jungkook, and you're welcome."
The father gasped underneath his breath, "Jungkook? You time travelled too, didn't you?"
Jungkook furrowed his brows, sure it could be figured out easily, but the way his uncle was looking at him was peculiar. "Namjoon had your name on a list in his diary. It was titled Baby Names. He really did want to be a father.... He's your father, huh?" He informed, predicting a quite delightful thought. Jungkook's eyes grew wide, his dad had dreamt of having him; it made his heart grow warm but sink once again as he remembered the reason he was doing all of this anyway. It was him forgetting his parents cared for him.
"Why did you two come here?" Finally, the question was asked. Jungkook pursed his lips together into a thin line, "I made irrational decisions because I was so overwhelmed with emotion. I asked Taehyung to help me, and together we jumped in the portal. Now we severely want to go back. Will you please help us?"
"Come in," was all Yoongi said before entering his house.
.
"Don't touch that," Yoongi's deep and commanding tone made a comeback once he saw Jungkook tap on some flasks. The youngest whispered sorry and continued walking next to Taehyung, together they followed Yoongi to the back corner of his basement. The future professor stopped walking and looked up at something, the two young boys' eyes followed where he stared.
It was what they assumed another one of his machines, but it was covered by a huge cream colored blanket hiding its true appearance. Jungkook's eyes grew wide when he realized what it potentially was.. Could it be...
"I've been working on this for a while. It's not perfect, I don't know what may happen if you get in," The scientist warned them, it nearly sounded like a threat coming out of his mouth but truly he was being honest as he was worried. Within one second, he pulled off the blanket, revealing a familiar machine.
"HHYH-13.." Taehyung read out loud, from the paper taped on one of the rusty metal parts. "The time machine," Jungkook continued, scanning his eyes over every single part. It was rusty, looking to be made of random and different metal pieces forced together by a few nails. Chemicals in some circular glasswares and wires piled up behind it, connected by some tubes. They didn't understand how it worked, but were fascinated simply by the sight of it.
Yoongi's sigh broke off the atmosphere filled with amazed tension, "It needs some polishing.. I need more time," he informed, now more evident he was nervous. Taehyung gave him a wide grin, "Don't worry, we can wait! I'm pretty sure we have to tell the truth to the others."
At that, Jungkook bounced up on his feet from the shock of what he heard, "Tell them?! No way! They're going to hate me!"
Tae frowned at that, knowing that it was not true, and whatever made his bestfriend think that was ridiculous. "Hate you? They would love you even moreee," He insisted, snaking his arm around Jungkook's shoulder to shake him around, as if it would help his words sink into the younger's head easier. Jungkook dropped his head down, he knew that would likely be the situation, but he couldn't just shake off his nervousness. Plus, would they even believe him?
"I believed you, what makes you think they won't?" Yoongi spoke up, joining in on the conversation, Jungkook squinted his eyes at the mint-haired. Are you reading my mind? Blink if you can.......
"Kook?" Taehyung shook his body again, making Jungkook let go of his sudden delusions. "Right, you're right. Fine, let's go tell them," He finally answered, still sounding a bit bewildered, but firm with the decision, much to the delight of the other two in the room.
