“Tomorrow, 10:30 AM at Youngjae's. Got it.” “Do you even remember where she lives?” Sunoo squinted his eyes at Jay. “How can I not remember? Youngbin freaking chased me around the block when he thought I was Youngjae's secret boyfriend while we were in eighth or ninth grade. I got the whole block memorised.” I laughed as the scene replayed in my head. “It was hilarious and worth it.” Sunghoon was quietly chuckling at the back. “If it wasn't for Youngjae, he would have beaten you up into a pulp.” “I'm still so confused! Sunghoon was with us but he thought I was the imposter. Sunghoon seems to fit in as Youngjae's boyfriend, not gonna lie.” Sunghoon just laughed. Sunoo grunted, which helped Jake get away with the uncomfortable expression he had on his face at the mention of his best friend and girlfriend being couple goals. “Why not me?” “Because you were already a friend of Youngjae?” Jay replied.

We made our way out from the building. “Alright, I'll see you all tomorrow.” Jay spoke before walking off to the opposite direction we were going to take. “That guy never says ‘Bye’.” Sunoo rolled his eyes and gazed off until he thought of something, making his face lit up. “Youngjae! Heeseung is probably with your brother, we need to tell him where we're going to meet up.” I lightly sighed and faced the school gate to see the two lads chatting and chuckling together. “They're over there. You can go, I'm not feeling that well.” Sunoo slightly pouted and patted my head. “Be careful, I won't want you to miss our hangout tomorrow.” He dashed off to the two seniors without another word. “You're so bad at lying.” Sunghoon snickered, making Jake laugh. I knocked his abdomen with my elbow and walked off with satisfaction, leaving him groaning with Jake's ‘Are you okay?’.

“Right, my mother hasn't seen you ever since we became friends. You should stay longer today, it's going to be a weekend anyway.” I faintly heard Youngbin's words as I made my way closer to them. “I'm not really sure.” Heeseung responded with a nervous chuckle, which made me get on my nerves for some reason. “You can sleepover at their house! It won't be a problem for you to go all the way from your place to theirs the next day.” Sunoo squealed. “Excuse me, what?!” I butted in. “Hey, Mrs. Runaway.” Youngbin said as soon as he noticed my presence. “A sleepover? Nuh-uh, ain't happening.” “I just brought it up, don't get all mad.” Sunoo furrowed his eyebrows. “It's not a bad idea though.” Youngbin looked at Heeseung, who was staring off to space.

“What's going on?” Sunghoon asked as he walked closer to us with his hand on his stomach, Jake quietly following beside him. “Heeseung's deciding if he's going to sleep over at our place tonight.” Youngbin beamed up like a beacon. “Oh?” Sunghoon exclaimed and looked at Jake, who looked back at him, dumbfounded. “Why are you looking at me like that?” “Nothing. Good luck to you. Hopefully, Youngjae won't kill you in your sleep.” Sunghoon smiled innocently, which made Heeseung back away a little. “O~kay?” He looked at my side while I was in the middle of giving him a death stare. He muttered something when Sunoo locked arms with him. “We never walked home altogether, let's go!” He skipped off with Heeseung straggling beside him. Youngbin did the same to me and Jake to Sunghoon. I swear to gosh we looked like a bunch of kids, how ashamed I was at that moment.

Heeseung ended up having a "sleepover" at our place that night. Mom was rather pleased to see him, which I didn't expect. I thought that she would just be neutral about it like when I bring over my friends but Heeseung, it was different. She would often ask him questions if he was feeling comfortable and other unnecessary questions like where he was from, his birthday and all. Something felt fishy at first but then I thought it was just me overthinking because my hate for him was increasing incredibly. I wished I invited at least Sunoo over to have a sleepover too. I wasn't handling this well by myself at all. Putting that aside, the unbearable pain on my shoulder was making it's comeback and that had to make the situation worse. We were going to have dinner soon and mom hates it when we get up from our seats before finishing our food. I had to check myself in the mirror frequently to make sure nothing was going on with me, but then going in and out from the bathroom again and again would be more suspicious.

“How's the food?” Mom asked him with sparkling eyes. He simply smiled, nodding. “It's good. They're all my favourites.” Favourites my foot. Go to bed quickly! I quickly ate up my food. Youngbin noticed and chuckled at my actions, signalling mom what I was doing. “Why are you such in a rush?” She asked and I paused from shoving the rice in my mouth. I swallowed before answering. “I'm just hungry, plus I have something—” “She doesn't really like to have Heeseung around. That's why she's planning to finish dinner quickly and lock herself up in her room.” Youngbin evilly spoke, making me hiss at him. Heeseung nervously chuckled. “You br—” “Ugh, where are your manners, Youngjae?” Mom cut me off. “Don't believe his words, mom! He's just lying.” I furrowed my eyebrows. And just like that, dinner time was over and I peacefully walked in my room after doing the dishes for not behaving. The pain didn't bother me that much but it became a problem when I was about to go to bed.

Youngbin yawned as he stretched and comfortably laid on the sheets spread out on the floor of his room. Heeseung regrettably looked at him before sitting on the bed, which belonged to the latter. “You should be sleeping on the bed instead of me.” “What? No~ you're the guest so we need to provide you with the best hostility.” He smiled at him. “But still, you're the class captain and you've done a lot for me already—” “It's my job to do lots of things for other people, they call me the captain for nothing.” He shrugged and closed his eyes. Heeseung sighed and looked out the window. “Thanks, then.” “No problem.” Honestly, he was tired of saying ‘Thank you’ to other all the time. It made him look bad and helpless. Although Sunoo had been the only one saying ‘Thanks’ to him for helping him out with some schoolwork.

He got up from the bed and walked towards the door. “Where are you going?” Youngbin asked, his eyes still closed. “I think I left my phone in the living room, I'll be right back.” The door closed shut and Youngbin opened his eyes, which directly focused on the cabinet next to the bathroom door. There laid Heeseung's phone. He stared up at the ceiling, his mind filled with questions. He glanced at the door before shrugging lightly and closing his eyes again. He won't do anything stupid, I trust him for a reason.

Meanwhile, Heeseung was making his way back to the room when he heard a noise coming from the room next to them. He hesitantly walked closer to the door and rested his ear on the door, just to hear soft and low whimpers from Youngjae. He was confused to what was happening inside the room but when he caught the scent of blood coming from there, he got a hint of what she was doing. A part of him wanted to go in there and stop her but that would end up making her even more mad than she already is at him. He slowly bared his fangs from the smell of his soulmate's blood, his brown eyes slightly turning into a lighter colour. It had been so long since he first and last obtained a human's blood. He was incredible for maintaining his bloodlust whenever he sees or smells blood, but things seemed to go downhill that particular night.

“Is someone out there?” A shaky voice rang out from inside, making him jolt away from the door and dash into the next room. Luckily, Youngbin was in a deep sleep. Heeseung tried his best to catch his breath and soon after, he noticed that he was hissing while being drawn into the smell of her blood. He shut his eyes and sighed out. This is unnatural, she's making me go crazy.
