Allura's POV

It was still night out when we arrived home. I must say, I enjoyed watching Keith Kogane look in surprise as my sisters and I dealt with the zombie attacks before even he, the great colonel Mr. Kogane could give his blade a taste of brain craving zombies which came from inside. Now he must see, I'm not a child or lady who needs to be taken care of or must sit idlily by as a man protects me.

While I thought only ill thoughts of Keith Kogane, Pidge only had sweet and girlish thoughts of Mr. Kogane's dear friend, Lance McClain. She sat down on her bed, her hair wet as I combed through it one last time before it dried. We were already dressed in our nightgowns ready for our slumber.

"Mr. McClain was surprisingly very nervous." Pidge said, "I know I get nervous but, he's a captain and you'd think he'd be proud but he cared not of his title only me. He was so kind."

I must admit, while his friend spoke ill of me, Mr. McClain did question Mr. Kogane reasoning and said nothing of when Mr. Kogane joked about my reasons on why Nyma was no threat. He may not stand up but he means no ill will. The same can't be said of Keith Kogane.

"I get it. You like nice guys. The stupid of men." I said. Mr. McClain seemed decent. Although he didn't see the dangers of zombies completely, he was like Pidge. Pidge thought the same. Both were trained the same and act somewhat carelessly around zombie matters but can get serious when need be. For my comment, Pidge elbowed me in the gut lightly knowing the comb was in her hair.

"I'm serious, he's sweet, kind, and mannered. He's a gentlemen to women and-"

"Rich?" Something our mother would say.

"Not as rich as Keith." She said. His name being mentioned and coming from my sister, I pulled her hair with the comb as she let out a little yelp. "I saw the way you looked at him when he entered the room." She said. There was no face. There was no look. I feel nothing for Keith Kogane. I faced Pidge as I put the comb down.

"I'm not talking about this. We're going to bed and never talking about this." I said as I went to bed.

-The Next Day.

"You like him." Pidge said as her and I engaged in a round of sparring out in a little maze in the yard. Only way in and it was cleared for zombies the day we moved in by our father.

"Why are we still talking about this?" I asked. "I rather hate him."

"You hate him as if you like him." Pidge replied.

"He thinks he's above us. That he's better and more important and aren't even worth his time. How could I like someone who is as arrogant as that?"

"Because of his looks. I saw how you looked at him. Admit you find him handsome." I backed up to see where she stood.

"His pride and mindset of thinking he's better than us and above us has made him to be a very ill looking man." I said as I lunged for Pidge but she dodged and I continued forward and fell into a wall of vines and hedge from the maze. I got up and Pidge was gone. I walked by following the twist and turns of the maze.

"Never in my life have I encountered a man so consumed by his own pride." I said looking around for Pidge.

"Well I cannot wonder why a very fine young man with family, fortunate, and everything in favor shouldn't think highly of himself." It was then I heard hedges move that I turned around but too late. Pidge had already swung over the hedge and kicked me with both her feet, knocking me to the ground. "If I may be so bold to say, he has a right to be proud." Pidge said. Now he has even turned my own sister against me.
