Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (VLD)

Arus

Arus was at the end of the line. Arus had only two sectors reamining as safe zones. They had built walls around each sector with at least 15 miles in between. They would use horses as transportation. Very few people even bothered to leave the walls in fear of becoming the undead. There are zombies within the walls but the guards hold them off as well as some citizens.

All the planets communicate with each other. A message was sent to earth and based on that information Earth sent one of their greatest who was on his way back from the Blades. Then man stopped at Arus to discuss the message.

The one called one of the greatest is a young man in his early twenties road up on a black horse. He rode on a brown saddle. The young man had fair skin with gray eyes. He had a mullet of dark brown hair, so dark it looked black. He wore a armor like outfit. White and red. He got offhis horse and walked to a wall that was 7 feet high with a iron door in the wall.

"Who goes there?" A man asked from behind the door. You could here guns being loaded and cocked. "Who goes there?" They asked one more time. The young man stood three feet infront of the door.

"Kogane. Colonel Keith Kogane." Keith said plainly.

The man unlocked the door. As he opened it another man came out holding a gun and started walking behind Keith as he walked through the door.

Okarion fell because many citizens claimed to have no bites or scratches from zombies, but they lied and Okarion fell from the inside.

Since then, it became protocal for outsiders, or off-worlders, who arrive in the walls, protocal states they have to strip down and be examined by a doctor. To insure they haven't been bitten. They led Keith to an underground chamber that was clear as Balmera crystal. In fact the walls were made from a Balmera Crystal.

"It would appear there are no bites or marks on this young man's pristine body." The examiner said. Keith ignored the comment. As he received his clothes back he noticed the examiner staring at his crouch. Keith cleared his throat before he spoke.

"Are you done?" Keith asked causing the examiner to turn red from embarrassment and walk away. He got dressed and after he enter the first sector. He rode his horse to gate of the mayor of the sector. He tied his black horse to gate clear from zombies. He walked to the front door with the wind picking up in his hair and jacket. He knocked on the door as the mayor's servant answered.

"Oh my. Mr. Kogane." It grabbed the attention of the mayor and the mayor's family in the house. The mayor's wife made her way to the door.

"Mr. Kogane do come in." The mayor's wife said.

"Keith is fine." Keith walked in. He looked around as all eyes were on him. It reminded him of the examiner and the way he was eyeballing Keith. "The Blade has received word that, Arus may have been compromised. Care to elaborate?" Keith asked.

"Keith, that preposterous. I'm sure we'd noticed if there was a zombie in our midst."

"If only it were that easy." Keith said as he pulled out his bayard, "You see when you are first bitten you can hide it as you all know that's how Okarieon fell. But those who hide it can't fight the hunger you feel. The hunger to feast on human brains. They can slowly servive by biting and eating the flesh of others but sooner or later they will reveal their true colors. They may act normal but that's history." Keith explained.

"I assure you Mr. Kogane there is nothing like that here." The wife explain. Keith was tired of them interfering with his investigation. He rolled up his jacket and made a cut on his bicep. "Why did you do that?"

"Faced with blood the Zombie will lose control his eyes turn red and his teeth will rot. In other words they'll reveal thrmselves." Keith said. Everyone turned to face each other to see if Keith was correct, and he was. The Mayor's eyes were once white now the blood vessels in his eyes were smelling and his eyes were slowing filling with blood and becoming less souless. His teeth were gridding against each other, the white teeth becoming a rotting green and brown molding color. His face became pale and his true colors were revealed...literally. He charged at Keith whose bayard quickly formed a giant laser gun. With one shot the mayor's head was incinerated. The wife stood in a shock stans as the daughters fell to the ground.

"I'm sorry for your loss. Is there anyone else he could have infected?" Keith asked.

"No, Mr. Kogane." The wife pieced together. Keith left sure that he had ended the life threatening disaster in sector eight. The coming day after awakening from his sleep Keith would learn that Arus, both sectors, would have fallen to the dead. There were surviors who escaped but only 1/10 total. Keith would discover from the surviving daughter of the mayor that the Mayor was having an affair and the mother knew. She only refused to say so the mistress could rot. Keith was then sent to take a break after what Kolivan called his failure. He was sent to earth to live with his dear friend Mr. McClain, Lance McClain.
