"I failed to keep her safe" was the only think circling around my head. Her father gave me one job and I fucked it up by drinking and letting her go. If I hadn't picked up my drink and kept it down like she did, he wouldn't of been able to get a hold of her and hurt her. Even if she says it wasn't something that bad I still failed her fathers wish. And I never fail.

We threw his body in the back of the car as I took the keys from her and sat her down in the passenger seat and started driving. I looked over at her as she just looked out the window. I felt an ache in my heart knowing it was my fault she was hurt. I don't care if it's a little scar she's still hurt. I placed my hand on her thigh to get my mind off of letting her go. She turned her head over to look at me with a confused expression of what I was doing. God she's so innocent it's adorabl-

Nope no it's not. I'm heartless I don't love anyone especially not her....right? I wasn't falling for her. She wouldn't fall for me either. She deserves someone who would love her more than anything. I wouldn't be able to give her that. Loving someone was just not my thing. I can't bring myself to love her in fear I might hurt her more.

We reached her house as I pulled up to the front gates while she informed the guards to take him to the cellars that were underneath the house. We walked in and went up the stairs as she started going the other way.

"Where are you going?" I questioned. " I need to go tell dad that we got him" the blood on her neck was almost dry leaving a scab that would be painful to pick off. "Oh hell no we need to get you cleaned up before your dad kills me" and with that I threw her over my shoulder and pulled her into her bathroom and placed her on the counter. She protested that her neck was hurt not her legs. Seeing her pout in annoyance was the cutest thing ever. She flinched at the sting of the alcohol against her flesh. It wasn't just a regular flinch like everyone would of had, it was a more traumatic flinch almost as if they would pour alcohol on her after beating her when she was little. I swore I could of seen the immense amount of fear in her eyes.

I think she realized I was angry with my jaw clenched at the thought of someone hurting her but I didn't care and proceeded to do the stitch the cut but made sure to be careful to not hurt her anymore. Her nails dug into my shoulder definitely leaving a mark. After I finished stitching her a little tear fell from her eyes as I guided my thumb to wipe it off.

We stood in-front of her fathers desk after informing him about the missions success. "Good work but he's not the only one, there are still dozens maybe even hundreds of more of his people that will come and at the very end when they all fail he's going to step forward. Aurora I need you to go question him and kill him right after." She nodded her head as he looked up at me. "Thank you Ace for keeping my little girl safe" he said as he looked back down at his computer. "Both of you dismissed."

A pit of guilt took over my body as her father said those words. But I tried to ignore it so Aurora wouldn't notice. We reached the front of her door as I stopped her. She looked up and gave me a confused look. "Wanna have a movie night afterwards?" I asked nervously. A little giggle slipped from her soft pink lips as she nodded her head and walked into her room.

I changed into a black t-shirt and some leggings before making my way downstairs and down the elevator into the cellar. The sound of the chains clashing together echoed through the empty halls as Christian tried to get out from them. I stood in front of the cells dismissing the two guards.

I looked up at him with a smirk. Finally after all the nights he had me in chains, I was the one with the power over him tonight. He wouldn't stop trying to get out of the grasp from where he was tied to so I shot him in his shoulder to get him to stop. I took a step forward and sat in the chair across the metal table from him.
