Part 4: Down south

In the blink of an eye, Thomas had Newt pinned to the ground, landing multiple blows to his jaw,

Within moments Newt had managed his way back onto his feet,

The gladers began to crowd around, without Alby here to keep the peace, what was stoping them from breaking any and every rule they felt like, nothing.

Chanting like a bunch of riled up dogs, because that's exactly what they were,

Thomas landed a hard blow to his gut, knocking the wind out of Newt's lungs, sending him to the floor, clutching his stomach,

"COME ON NEWT!" They chanted,

Another glader joined, "DON'T JUST STAND THERE GETTING YOUR ASS HANDED TO YOU!"

He was furious, the look on his face was almost scary,

"In front of your girl too, SHOW HIM WHO'S BOSS AROUND HERE!"

"Yeahh!!"

It was heard from multiple boys all around,

Cheering him on. Encouraging him.

He stumbled forward,

Taking back the pride he owned, without hesitation,

He head butted Thomas full in the face, coming off his back foot and thrusting his legs, he whipped his head forward and smashed it straight into Thomas's nose,

His face rushed with dark red blood, his anger grew.

They were like two alpha males trying to take back something that was never really theirs, but just like animals, they didn't see the wrong in this.

"THAT IS ENOUGH!" I push my way through the crowd,

"All of you know better, Alby has been stung, that doesn't mean we can abandon our ways, we have rules for a reason, to prevent shit like this from happening and you know I'm right so you can go stalk off to your huts and be mad at me, I could care less, but atleast I care about my friends, watching them hurt each other for your own entertainment, weak."

Some of the boys looked ashamed, others didn't care, as if I were just ruining their fun.

Thomas had a defeated look as he left, without saying a word, just as quick as it started, it was over.

As I made eye contact with my bruised boyfriend,

I gave him a sad but still disappointed look.

He knew it was wrong,

He didn't technically start it but he took part,

He gave me a sad, ashamed look in return,

I took his hand and led him to our shared hut, without saying a word he knew I would take care of him, no matter what happened, I made a promise to not only him, but to myself.

I would never lose him, he is mine.
