"And where exactly did Mr. Sahay get that information?" He responded as he typed on the keys of his laptop.

The response he had gotten on the other end of the line seemed to have annoyed him as his frown increased.

"And how exactly?" He angrily stated. "Get rid of it, am I clear? Bloody idiots!" He murmured the last part as he hung up and answered another incoming call.

"Hello."

"Hey Dad! I saw your call. Is there any problem?" Shaurya asked.

"Not quite. But I've been to busy to ask about that girl. How are things going?" Yuvraj spoke in his usual stern tone. For a while, there was no response from the other end of the line.

"Shaurya?" He called his attention confused at his sudden silence.

"Dad, don't you think you're kind of taking this a little too... I dunno, serious?" He was careful in picking his words as he knew the slightest of things can make his dad annoyed.

"Have I ever made the wrong decision for you?" Shaurya sensed the slight annoyance in his words.

"No,of course not. You know I trust you with my life." He defended immediately. He had no intention of displeasing his dad but thought it necessary to voice his thoughts about their whole revenge plan.

"Good!" Yuvraj nodded, pleased with his response.

"You're the one who wanted to help me. I never wanted to involve you. You know quite well, I could've handled her myself." He continued.

True, Shaurya had asked to help his dad in his revenge against her but he had very good reasons. He was very angry then and wanted to be the one to get her back in her own coin but still he wanted to protect her from the direct merciless and brutal wrath of his dad. Like an intermediary.

Usually, it would've been extremely easy for him to do that but when it came to Mehek, it just felt different. Things had changed, it didn't feel right anymore.

"But dad, this isn't necessary anymore." He pressed on.

"What is wrong with you, Shaurya? Was I wrong to let you get close to her? Are you questioning me?" His voice rose momentarily.

"No, no,of course not." He immediately spoke catching the rising anger in his tone, "I'd do whatever you want." He continued. Yuvraj calmed hearing that and relaxed into his chair.

"Good. I will speak to Mrs. Agarwal first and I'll give you an update later."

"Sure, bye dad!" He hung up.

An elderly lady walked in momentarily in a traditional sari. Time seemed to have taken its toll on her, she was well aged. "And what is the problem with you now?" She retorted as she she walked in, having noticed his bad mood. He only snarled.

"It's Shaurya. He's becoming.... disrespectful." It didn't take time for Dadi to recognize the true situation.

She knew it would obviously be an overreactions seeing as he was too inclined and obsessed with utmost respect. "You spoilt him." She made the comment more to herself than him. She may have spoilt him a little too much resulting in his crassness.

"No, I treated like I should've. Shaurya deserves the world and much more."

"Hmmm...so what did he do this time?" She reiterated as she sat down gracefully at an end of the large bed in their bedroom.

"Don't stress about it." He told and continued on his laptop. "I am old, but not dead." She wanted to argue but their conversation was short-lived as Rashmi walked in. She held a breakfast tray in her hand. Her eyes moved suggestively from Yuvraj to Dadi, unsure whether to interrupt them or go back.
