I took my time walking to Mason's house. While I was walking, I couldn't help but replay everything that happened in my head.
It only took a few minutes for me to reach his house. I knocked on the door and sure enough, the door opened and Mason was standing in front of me. He smiled warmly at me and moved over so I could walk in. I sat down on the couch and he sat next to me, his smile never vanishing.
Too bad that smile's gonna fade away today.
"So, what brings you here?" He asks. "I have some news for you." He nods. I position myself so I'm facing him. "I'm not staying here any longer. I'm moving to a different town." His smile suddenly fades.
"Why?" He asks, not hiding any of his disappointment. How am I suppose to explain this to him?
"I've had an awesome time hanging out with you but I hate all of the drama here. I can't stand all the problems so I'm leaving." This actually is kind of true. Kind of. "So, you're leaving because of the drama?" He asked. I nod. "Yeah."
He looks torn. I can feel a pain in my chest I've never felt before seeing him like this. Knowing that I caused this boy who always has a smile on his face like this, makes it hurt even more.
"Are you going to move permanently?" He asked. I nodded. He looks even more hurt now. I'm not the soft type but I do feel bad for causing this positive person so much pain. "I might visit you once in a while." He gave me a sad smile. "Promise?" He asked. I smiled. "Promise." I know its not the same as staying but I made him a little happier.
I smile and then realize I better start walking now before it gets too dark. "Mase, I have to get going." He stands up and holds his arms out for a hug. "Always want an excuse for physical contact, huh Lester?" He smiled. "Always." I accept his hug anyways because I'm leaving and he smiles.
I pull away a minute later and he looks disappointed. "Can I convince you other wise so you'll stay?" He asked with pleading eyes. "I'm leaving. I already made my decision."
I open the door and started walking. I was walking down the steps when I felt him grab my wrist. I turned around and our eyes met instantly.
He held both of my hands and looked at me intensely. "Please stay." He whispered. "Mason, I alread-" he cut me off. "Please, for me."
I sighed. "Yeah, I'll stay."
