While we were walking, I felt his hand brush against mine every now and again. I know he wants to hold my hand from the way he's been looking down at our hands. You think I should let him just hold my hand?? Yes, okay. I will.

NOT.

We walked until we got to the same park one if those brats knocked me over at. We didn't have any type of conversation. We just stood and watched the little brats run around and chase each other until he broke the awkward silence that I was peacefully enjoying. "So, who was that dude at your house today?" He asked. "A very old, used to be, friend of mine." He shook his head. "Seemed like he missed you." "Yeah. I guess." He decides to walk again, leaving me standing there. "Aren't you coming?" "Nah, I'm good. I'll just stand here." He sighed heavily and grabbed my wrist. "Come on." He said pulling me forward. "Mason, let go of my wrist. If you don't, I'm not responsible for your injuries." He slowly let go.

At least he listened.

We came to a small field with a few people around. He went near a tree and grabbed a football. "Wanna play ball?" He asked. "May I ask why you have a random football behind a tree??" He shrugged his shoulders. He threw me the ball and I caught it. We started playing a game until someone rudely interrupted us.

"Oh look! It's baby boy Mason! And he's playing with a girl. Awe." I rolled my eyes. "Leave me alone." Mason said. He came up to him. "What are you going to do about it?" Mason didn't reply. The Dude pushed him and Mason fell to the ground. "Stay down." The dude said. "No." Mason replied. The dude raised his fist. Okay, time to step in.

I walked right behind the dude and tapped his shoulder. He turned around. I punched him right in the face. He went stumbling back with a bloody nose. "You can leave now, or you can suffer from severe pain. Your choice. Either way, it doesn't matter to me." He ran away and I couldn't help but laugh. That Dude was nothing but a wuss.

I held out my hand and helped Mason up. "Thanks." He said. I nodded my head. "Why didn't you just stick up for yourself? All it took was one good punch to the nose and a threat and he was running like a little girl who saw a spider. He was so afraid of me it was holarious." He chuckled nervously.

"I don't know. I just... I don't know." Well, okay then.

********

As we were walking home, I could feel him starring at me for a while. I didn't bother looking back at him. I just kept my eyes forward. I know he's embarrassed about what happened a few hours ago.

Shoot, I would be too.

A dude is about to punch you and a girl comes and saves your butt. I understand.

We finally reached my house. I opends the door. Before I went inside, I said, "Bye Mason." "Bye Vernie. I'll see you on school tomorrow."
