Chapter Twenty Eight
Playing video games with my friends didn’t feel like it used to. Even though Colby and I sorted things out a week ago you could still cut the tension in the room with a knife because everyone knew Reina was still pissed at me and they all knew we still hadn’t spoken to each other. I don’t think I’ve been out of my room for days so when I came down this morning to play with them none of them spoke a word. They just passed me the controller and now we’ve been playing for almost an hour without saying anything.
I figured Reina would call me and she’d want to talk to me. I figured we’d make up by now but sadly that wasn’t the case because she was so pissed off last week. She was furious at me and I know the fight wasn’t that big of a deal but the silence is turning it into something serious and I don’t want this to be over. I never have but it seems like her mind is changing about us and there’s nothing I can do to stop it because this jealousy isn’t something I can stop. I can’t just pretend to be okay with someone saying they wish they could have her in bed with them because in no way is that okay and even Reina should know that. She should have understood the reason I got upset and that’s partly the reason why I haven’t called her I think.
“Shit. I’ve got Algebra in like two hours.” Colby sighed, setting the controller down.
“And it’s like ten minutes away. Why the hell are you getting ready now?”
“Because I have to go to the library to study because I’ve got a test today. Ms. Peters doesn’t understand that in order to pass the fucking class you sort of need to teach us something. God, I can’t stand her or this class.”
“Just be careful.” Mark laughed, taking a swig of his mountain dew. “Don’t get fucked by that library creep.”
“What library creep?” He replied.
“The one that everyone’s been talking about on campus. He’s like this weird kid that finds girls to fuck and it’s always at the library. It’s like he’s into the nerds or some shit.”
“Well maybe I’d be scared if I was a girl.”
“I know that’s why I’m saying you should be scared.”
I started to laugh and everyone else did too as Colby punched him jokingly on the arm and headed upstairs to get his things.
“I don’t get why guys have to be such pigs.” Scott scoffed. “It’s absolutely disgusting.”
“I know. The worst part is that he isn’t bad looking. I heard Katie talking earlier about him and she said he tried to talk to her when she was there and for a second she actually thought about giving in. She said he was attractive, which is weird for a psychopath.”
“And nobody’s telling the school security about this?” I finally asked. “They’re just letting this guy ponder around the library hitting on innocent girls?”
“There’s no proof. He does what he’s supposed to do in the library and if a girl isn’t interested he apparently just leaves them alone. I don’t know much about the dude but he’s dirty. I heard that once he even forced himself on someone at a party. It’s what he likes to do or something. Seeing girls in pain and in fear turns him on.”
