Wake up....Abigail, wake up.
After a moment of confusion, I realized the annoying voice wasn't coming from my dream. I cracked open an eye and saw that it was August and he had been shaking me too. I groaned and pulled the ever so comfortable blanket over my head.
"Abby come on." He whispered.
"What time is it?" I groaned, not caring about whispering.
"It's one forty."
"One forty in the morning. I'm trying to sleep, August. The baby and I need to rest." I mumbled.
"I know, but I forgot to tell you something."
I ripped the blanket off of my head and glared at him. "There are 365 days in a year. Pick one and tell me, then." I said through gritted teeth.
"I choose day 108, which is today, so come on."
I didn't answer him.
"Don't make me lick you."
"I'll punch you in the face of you do."
"That's not very nice for someone who wants to set a good example for their child."
I sighed. "What do you want." I was practically awake by then.
"Remember when Eli said he was going to teach us how to drive."
"Eli's dead, August."
"I know...so can you teach me?"
"Now?!" I exclaimed in disbelief.
He shushed me instantly. "Not so loud. I'm not trying to wake everyone up."
Everyone as in Celia? I thought.
"I don't even know how to drive myself, August."
"That's ok, that's ok. We can teach each other."
"We don't have a car."
"Yes we do." He smirked.
I narrowed my eyes at him. "No, we don't."
"Yes, we do," he chuckled.
"No we don't, August," I said as he groaned in frustration.
"Just come!" He whisper yelled.
I followed him out of the room, dragging myself down the stairs and outside. "The only car there is Celi- oh, my God, what is that doing here?" I was staring at my parents' car. Well, Hummer. The Hummer I've always wanted to drive.
"August, how did you get that here?" I said, gesturing to the car.
"I'm filthy rich, I can do whatever I want. So are we gonna do this?"
"It's like one in the morning."
"Come on, it'll be so much fun. Don't you like being a rebel?"
"Well, yea.." I leaned back on the frame of the door, thinking hard.
This could be fun, I thought.
"Come on, Abby. Please. Celia's upstairs snoring; she'll never know."
"Ok, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine!" I raised my hands in surrender as I started walking toward the car.
"Yess!" He said, from behind me.
I opened the driver's door and hopped in. Soon, August was in the passenger seat beside me.
"I know a little about this stuff," I said, studying the gears and gizmos.
