How's detention going for you? I texted Perry after my lunch. He was stuck in the office all day.
Meh. He replied.
Lool do you want me to come visit you? like bring down the attendance or something
Yess
Loool sit tight.
Mr. Dasher had just finished taking the attendance, so I figured it would be a good opportunity to rid Perry from his suffering for a while.
"Can I take down the attendance, sir?" I said.He stared at me blankly. I guess he was shocked that I volunteered to do something. It was the first time in a while.
"Uuuh, sure..." he said, hesitantly holding out the attendance to me."Thank you!" I said on my way out.
Walking down the hall by myself felt pretty relieving. Not that I didn't like walking with Perry but I liked being by myself. Just then, I saw Tyo walking in my direction. I figured he was just passing by so I didn't pay him any mind. That is, until he pushed me against a locker, angrily.
"You think you're bad?" he said in a low voice. "You think I'm scared of your little friend? He doesn't scare me. He got lucky."
"What is wrong with you?" I said confused.
"Don't push me Abigail--"
"No, what did I do to you? I don't even know you!"
"I just don't like you."
"Why?"
"Because your little friend put you on my list. Just tell him to keep his hands off of me cause my fist has his name on it."
"First of all, he is taller than you. Secondly, you provoked him." I narrowed my eyes at him. "I can't control him, and anyways, you shouldn't have brushed me!"
"I'll do what I want."
"Yea if you get Graeme's permission."
He looked like he was getting angrier and it kind of made me want to laugh. Just then, Graeme showed up.
Just my luck, I thought.
"What's going on?" he said.
Tyo was speechless.
"Your little friend is being unnecessary."
"Oh really, unnecessary how?"
Tyo narrowed his eyes at me as if to threaten to hurt me if I said something.
Bruh. I'm not scared of you!! And I'll do what I want, I thought.
"He pushed me against the locker and tried to scare me into telling Perry to leave him alone. Now, I think," I pushed past Tyo and went over to Graeme. "If he was really as tough as he tries to make people think, then he wouldn't need to try to intimidate me."
"You're right--"
"Hey, Abigail!" I heard someone call my name and it sounded like it was coming from behind Graeme. Lea.
"Hey." I said softly.
I felt Graeme's eyes on me but ignored him."What's up? What's going on here?" She said referring to Graeme and Tyo.
"Uuh, nothing just talking." I said.
"Cool. Can I talk to you?"
I looked at Graeme before answering and he looked fine with me leaving unexpectedly.
"Yea I guess."
We began walking the direction I was going to begin with - the office.
"So I know you know what happened at the party." She said."Um yea."
".....Well??! Aren't you happy for me? I got to hook up with one of the cutest guys in school. I think he really likes me, you know."
"Why do you think that?"
"Cause he told me...that's what he said before he kissed me."
"He kissed you."
"I'm so lucky."
"Mmhmm..."
"My friends are betting that he's gonna ask me out soon."
"Oh really," I mumbled.
I looked at her and saw her grinning. I would've kissed my teeth at the situation but she still didn't know we were friends.
I didn't even know why I cared anymore."So I'm having a slumber party tonight. You wanna come?"
I hesitated at first because I wasn't sure I trusted her completely but at the same time, I'd rather be with her than with my parents, so I said sure.
"Great! See you at 6:30."
