Thank God it was Friday. That meant I didn't have to face the world for a whole two days.

I didn't have my keys when I got home so I went through the garage door.

No one was home, of course and I was glad because I didn't want to talk to anyone or even look at anyone or hear anyone's voice. I just wasn't in the mood to be around people at the moment; I just wanted to be by myself. I got some time to think while I walked home so I wasn't as mad as before, however, I was still pretty upset.

It was 12:20 at the moment so no one was due home for a good while unless someone decided to come home for lunch.

In that case, I should probably go to my room until 2-ish, I thought.

The minute I put my foot on the first step of the staircase, the door bell rang. I turned my head in the direction of the door which, at that moment, felt a mile away.

Is this a trap? I thought.

I weighed my options.

I could keep walking up the stairs and ignore who it is and keep my life......or I could go with my overwhelming curiosity to the door and see who it is and maybe he or she can put me out of my misery and then my siblings will find me dead and track down my assailant and kill them, and because misery loves company, we can be dead buddies. I need a buddy right about now. But buddies with my killer?

"Hmm..."

I stood where I was for a while, thinking hard about my options, when the door bell rang again and snapped me out of my train of thought. Then, without thinking, I went up to the door and opened it.

What....?? I thought.

I was so confused as to why Aiden was at my door. Then, it made sense when I saw my backpack in his hand.

"What are you...." I took my backpack from him but couldn't find the right words to say.

I mean, I knew why he was here; to drop off my bag, so I couldn't ask him that.

"The office told me to bring this to you." He said.

His eyes, then, widened as he looked past me and into my large house.

"Woah, you live in a mansion?!" He said in amazement.

Did the outside of the house not give it away? I thought.

"How could you not tell me this. We've been friends forever. You'd think I'd know about this."

I narrowed my eyes and raised my eyebrows at him.

You'd think your best friend would tell you if they liked someone and not hide it when it's a matter of life and death towards the other person, I thought.

I was stunned when he brushed past me and let himself into my house.

What are you doing?! Get out! I thought.

"Jheeze, this is amazing. HELLOOO!" His voice echoed slightly.

"You need to leave." I finally said.

He turned around to look at me.

"First you tell me I can't leave you and then you tell me to leave?"

" I just don't think you're allowed to be here."

"But I am here."

He moved further into the house. I closed the door and followed after him.

"Aiden, you can't stay. I don't know if someone is coming home for lunch. I can't even be home yet."

He ran up the stairs and started peeking into rooms.
