The next morning I woke up. Cesar was gone so I texted him.

"Hey wya"

"I'm with Ruby, Jamal and Monse"

"Thanks just wanted to know"

"Oscar is home"

"Okay thanks Cesar, later"

I got dressed and went out of my room to see Oscar and one of the Santos.

"Where you going" Oscar said putting out his cigarette

"To school" I said trying to get out of the house

I wanted Latrell to pick me up and he was supposed to.

"Alright better hurry up.. you'll have no time" He said pointing to the door

I left and Latrell was 2 blocks away where I told him to be. I got in his car and he drove me to school.

"Look Jade.. I have a lot of shit to do. I don't know if we will work out." Latrell said before I got out of the car

"That's always the excuse Latrell" I said sitting back down rolling my eyes

"It's just we aren't even that close anymore dude" He said getting pissed off

"Latrell it's always I have to much going on or this or that just make up your damn mind. We are on and off all the time now and it's getting fucking annoying." I said pissed

"We are done"

Right then and there I broke. I love him. He was mine. But he made his decision and you know what I'm going to respect it.

"Fine. Can we be friends though?" I asked before getting out

"Yes. I promise." He said doing our lil handshake

Promise. Promise is a word that never ever comes out of Latrell.

I got out of the car. Today is going to suck.

I was in gym class running with Ruby and Jamal.

"I'm riding the wave" Ruby said as him and Jamal were staring at some girls boobs

I rolled my eyes and kept running in place with them.

"I'm bouncing" Ruby said

"Ruby shut the hell up" I said mumbling my words so neither of them could hear me

"Can I rub them down with sunscreen" Ruby asked Jamal

"No" Jamal said

"No?" Ruby said quietly

"No, no sunscreen. Baby oil. She likes to take risks." Jamal said

Ruby said something and then Monse showed up. Ruby screamed.

"After school Ruby's house 3:30" She said dead serious

"For what" Jamal said confused

"Practice. If it's not gonna be me talking to Oscar then we need a script. I've already wrote down the primary arguments and the talking points for obvious reasons." Monse said

"Which are obviously what?" Ruby said

"That we don't want you to die" Monse said

"Breeeeaathe in, follow the bounce" Jamal said trying to calm Ruby down

"Don't worry I'll dumb it down" Monse said walking away

"What the hell was that? I mean she's not even in this class." Ruby said
