Never let me go - cate blanchett x rooney mara

She was scrolling through the pages exited to know what part she would play and how it was related to cates character - if they had anything to do at all.
From going over the file she already knew that it was based on a patricia highsmith novel, she loved her writing, although she didn't read that particular book of hers, yet.
She was planning on it, it's just that she has had much to do with her job.

Lost in her thoughts she remembered what she originally wanted to do - FIND OUT WHICH PART SHE WAS GOING TO PLAY

And finally she found it, it seemed to be ages until she read the prescription, but she was playing therese, CATES LOVER!!!! Well to be clear, cates characters lover, but that didn't matter in that moment.

At first she froze in a shock, then jumped up and danced around in her apartment like she just got married to the love of her life, which in her opinion, playing cates lover was the  nearest she could get to that as an introvert.

It was a few weeks, months, whatever later.
Rooney just arrived at new york, of course she said yes to the part, how could she ever think about saying no anyways?

she was walking down the street to her apartment, when suddenly a woman bumps into her.
Rooney didn't know what was happening, still in her thoughts about the new movie, and of course cate, and she let her coffee fall and it spilled all over the floor.

"Omg I am so sorry" a nice deep voice said.

Rooney, still not knowing who it was she bumped into, casually replied with:

"Oh don't be, I wasn't enjoying the coffee anymore anyways."

and then she looked up. It hit her like a truck. Suddenly cate blanchett was standing before her, looking up and down on her like she was checking her out.
Rooney just stood there, still not really realizing what just happened.

" You're sure you're okey?"

the voice said, knowing that it came from cate now made her freeze even more.
She stood there a few seconds which seemed like hours until she noticed that she was staring at her for way too long.

"Hey can you hear me?"

"You are rooney mara, right?"

"uhh yes, I mean no no I- I- yes I am sure I'm f- fine."

"So you are rooney I suppose."

"Oh yeah sorry I- I am rooney yeah"

Rooney just wasn't good with people - not to mention cate blanchett.

"I was hoping on seeing you before we, you know, 'officially' meet."

"huh what?"

dammit rooney, why did you always need to be in her thoughts? Couldn't she run one simple conversation without getting lost?

"I said I hoped to meet before we actually do 'officially'"

she replied with a calm and smoothing voice, there was no anger or annoyance in it, which made rooney relax a bit.

"Oh yeah sorry. That's nice, I just arrived here, so I'm still a bit tired."

In fact she wasn't tired at all, she just needed a little excuse to help her out of this awkward situation, and just a little lie would do perfectly.
What cate didn't know is that rooney lived very near, so it wasn't a problem at all for her to stand here.

"Oh I need to apologize, I arrived a few days ago, and I thought you did so too. How about I help you with your stuff and come with you to the hotel?"

"No, you really don't have to-"

she was cut off by cates devine voice.

"Please, it would ba a pleasure for me, only if you want me to come and I'm not bothering you."

Did she just hear a little bit of uncertainty in her voice? That was surely something new...

"Ehh yeah you can of course come with me if you really want that."

"Why wouldn't I?"
