"You didn't tell me that you already met her."

Sarah now whispered towards the brunette.

"You didn't particular ask me about it and you and I haven't even had a real conversation yet!"

They were now standing in the elevator, waiting for it to stop at the 8th floor. They all kept being silent, no one said a word.

" Finally here we are! "

Cate spoke up after the lift stopped and it's doors went open. The three of them stepped out, Sarah and Rooney next to each other behind Cate, who was confidently walking along the hallway to the last door on the left side. Cate was a little faster than the other two so she waited for Rooney and Sarah to arrive next to her.

"Apparently you two can't speak anymore huh?"

"Yes we can we just like to be quiet and think."

Rooney was fast to answer to cates sarcastically placed question. She pronounced the 'quiet' and 'think' very sharply, yet with a nice jokingly undertone to go with it.

Cate was surprised at Rooney's sudden decision to conter, but she was very pleased someone was talking to her at all. It just became sort of usual for her to speak and be stared at by others.

"Well, we should maybe show up in there we're fashionable late for already 10 minutes."

A wide grin appeared at Cate's face, and so did it on Sarah's and Rooney's.
The door opened after cate pulled down the pawl, they were met by a few gazes. Todd Haynes, the director, he wore a nice grey sweater and a dark jeans; Kyle Chandler, the guy who would play Harge; and Jake Lacy. There were also a couple more people, but Rooney didn't know them.

"Finally you're here!"

Todd spoke up and made his way to Cate. He took her in his embrace.

" I missed you, it's great to work with you again."

"Likewise."

God, Cate answered so classy, it was just one word but it was chosen so carefully and with so much thoughts behind it. Her strong accent and the calm speaking made it a thousand times better.

They were all greeted by Todd and the others, after that they sat down at their places on a huge oval glass table. Cate and Rooney were sat opposite each other next to Rooney was Sarah and Todd was next to queen Cate. The rest was seated around them at the remaining seats.

Todd started talking about the scheduling and how few money they had.

Rooney was by the time they reached that point already zoned out. It wasn't like she didn't listen, she knew everything Todd said, but Cate sitting opposite her was simply more interesting. Cate didn't catch her gazing at her yet, but she felt her stare after a good 5 minutes.
She decided to play the game and put her let down hair in a ponytail to reveal the delicate neck of hers. And it worked, Rooney's eyes immediately switched from her face to her neck and she was clearly feeling something. A swarm of butterflies appeared in her stomach, but she couldn't for God's sake stop to look at the devine throat with her alabaster skin and light freckles on it.

After a time she managed to look away and get herself together, and she knew the game cate was playing, so she decided to hop on it and add a little bit of fun.

She put the hair that was falling in her face behind her ear and looked directly into Cate's eyes. The blonde also looked in her eyes and was mesmerized by the beauty of these emerald eyes piercing through her eyes in her soul. Rooney then bit her lip and leaned forward on the table, still looking in Cate's ocean eyes.
Cate just sat there with a lightly opened mouth, not believing that this little nice girl who seemed so angelic at the beginning could also be that teasingly. She cleared her throat and sat herself up again, what didn't go unnoticed by Sarah who was already looking at them with a smile in her eyes, exactly knowing what was going on there.
Gladly the rest of the team didn't get it and they continued to talk about the costume designers.
All took notes and concentrated on the meeting, but Rooney's and Cate's gazes met from time to time with a amused impression.
