Elijah (Sun, Aug 31)

I suddenly caught myself staring at her again, I didn't know why I did, but she just looked so...gorgeous. Her long brown hair, moving as the air hits on it, and her green, sparkly eyes, shining like diamonds. She looked like the definition of perfect. I think I'd started falling in love, but, I'm not sure yet...maybe it's just a crush, or maybe, just maybe, she's just so pretty that she is making me think I'd even have a chance with her. I'm sure she doesn't see me like this, we just met about...three? four days ago? It's...too soon, to even just think about each other that way.

Elisabeth quickly realized I was staring at her, so I tried to make it look less awkward by telling her she had "something" on her cheek, and help her "remove" it - which wasn't true, she had nothing on her cheek. It felt so nice to touch her face, though. It was so smooth, clean, natural...

A few seconds later, I finally moved my head to look somewhere else. My eyes and Patrick's met for a second until he looked away and continued having fun and enjoying the last days of summer with Katherine. It was August, and we'd start school in about a week or two. Katherine's school had already begun, but she decided to skip it for these two weeks to spend some time with Patrick and Elisabeth. She's going to a kind of...private school? I think...which means, no being marked as absent, for her, at least. As I've heard, her parents are paying the school a bit more every time she misses school for reasons like this one. She's generally a good student, just likes to enjoy herself. We've known each other for years now, probably even before we all started primary. She and I used to be really close but then drifted apart a little. She'd usually go out with Patrick, and I'd be busy studying or helping my family. Compared to Patrick, I can say that my grades are slightly higher. Not too much, mostly B+'s and A-'s, whereas his grades are mostly B-'s and B+'s. He prefers enjoying life, which I understand, especially after he and Kate started dating. He seems to be so happy. I sometimes envy him and their relationship, even though I am older by a few seconds...I wish to someday have what they have.

Later that day, we went to the market to buy some groceries, as mom asked us to. Kate and Elisabeth didn't really have to come, but they decided it'd be fun since they wanted to buy some candy and chocolate.

"The temperature is so nice in here. Neither too hot nor too cold, unlike the weather outside..." Kate said, sighing as she was enjoying the temperature.

"And there's so much...food...", Elisabeth added in surprise, with her mouth almost open. I put my arm around her and pulled her closer, smirking at her.

"Welcome to heaven, baby!" and she laughed.  I smiled. It's great to see her like this. It looks so pure.

"Oh, candy!" Kate screamed in happiness and ran to the candy aisle. For a weird reason, Elisabeth didn't go with her. She didn't move at all, she remained under my arm. I was wondering why she didn't go. I thought she wanted to buy candies with Kate.

"Let's see what you two have to buy, shall we?" she suggested. I looked at her in surprise but didn't ask her any further questions about it.

Cheese, ham, jam, beer, cereal, toast bread, and butter is what we had to buy. Elisabeth looked so excited to help us out in buying the food. She seemed to have forgotten why she came here in the first place.

"Which jam do you usually buy?" she asked, showing the jars while smiling. I smiled back, showing her exactly which one it is, helping her reach it.

Kate ended up buying at least twenty bags of candy...but Elisabeth only got two, which made me worry a bit...she seemed so excited. She mostly helped us buy what we needed, and got herself some pads and shampoo. It surprised me she didn't want anything more.

"I'm so tired!" Kate complained while we were still walking back home.

"We'll get you home to your sweet ass bed to sleep for as long as you want, okay?" Patrick said and she put her head on his shoulder, almost falling asleep. Elisabeth had already gone further away from us. She was almost out of our sight. At first, she wanted to help us with our grocery list, then, she bought herself only pads and a shampoo bottle instead of lots and lots of candy, and now she's rushing home.

"If you're wondering what's wrong with Liz, she probably got her period unexpectedly and wants to rush home so she doesn't stain her clothes. Don't worry", Kate said, and I...ran. For some reason, I just immediately ran towards her. But she just...ran too.

"Don't bother", Patrick said and I slowed down.

"She doesn't feel comfortable having others around when her period comes unexpectedly...just wait. She's fine, she will be fine", she will be fine, that's what Kate said. I just...hope she really is fine. I guess I'll just contact her morning.
