Elisabeth (Thu, Aug 28)

Moving to another city isn't always easy. The change of environment, leaving your friends behind, you know. And that's exactly how it felt like for me. I was so sad that I had to say goodbye to everyone. But it was even harder (and sadder) that I had to leave my best friend, Katherine. I've known her since I was a child. We met at kindergarten. It had always been so easy to talk with her, she would make me feel comfortable within seconds. I swear, she is the best person ever.

The rest of my friends were also hard to leave behind. They had always been so loyal to me and by my side. The relatives that lived close to us were all broken. They tried to convince mom and dad to stay here and not move, but they never listened. They said it was really boring where we lived, and they wanted to live in a more fascinating city.

I moved to a city that was a bit smaller than my hometown, named Lancaster. I didn't know anyone there, and since I was new to the city, I felt really anxious and shy. Our house wasn't too small, but not too big either. It was average, I suppose. A one-floored house with a small garden on the front. The walls were white, and the door was colored brown, probably the color of the woods. I never managed to find out. Downstairs was the living room and the kitchen, and upstairs was my room, my parent's room, the bathroom, and my sister's room. Oh, yeah. My sister, Stephanie. She and I don't really get along but have managed to live in the same house, somehow. She's 2 years older than me, she just finished school, and she's so annoying. She's always on the phone with her best friends, since she can't see them anymore, as we've moved houses. To be honest, my sister's really the basic type of girl. You know, like these girls that follow the latest trends. And as for her best friends, they are like twins! They always dye their hair the same color, they wear similar clothes and even do the same makeup! Stephanie has slowly started becoming like them, as well! It's become an addiction to her, and I mean, a literal addiction. Any new trend that starts spreading, she'll follow it.

While I was helping mom put the last boxes inside, I saw someone coming towards me.

"Hey!," she said. "Are you new here?" I was confused and nervous and confused at first, but I replied.

"Well, yeah. I just moved here. I'm helping mom put the boxes inside." As she kept telling me everything about the city, I noticed that her voice sounded extremely familiar.

"I'm sorry, but do I know you from somewhere? Your voice sounds really familiar to my best friend's-," she interrupted me.

"Katherine's, don't you mean? " and took off her wig and glasses. " One of my aunts lives two blocks far from here, so I decided to surprise you!" I didn't expect to see my best friend at all, so it was kind of a shock. I finally wasn't so alone in this city, though!

"I'll be staying here for the next two weeks! To show you around, you know," she said and I smiled. "But first of all, I want you to meet someone." I followed Katherine to a kind of huge house, with a big, beautiful garden. She knocked on the door, and a tall, black-haired boy answered. He kissed Katherine and then waved at me.

"You must be Elisabeth. Katherine hasn't stopped talking about you ever since she found out you'd move here," the boy said.

"Oh! I totally forgot that's Patrick, we've been dating for the past six months. I wanted to surprise you by introducing you to him in person," Katherine said and I looked at her in total shock. But my thoughts got distracted by another boy, who was walking down the stairs. He looked exactly like Patrick, with just a few differences. Katherine rushed to him and they talked for a little. He then walked towards me and smiled.

"I'm Elijah. It's nice to finally meet you, Elisabeth," he said and we then waved hands. I was speechless. Had Katherine really just talked about me with some boys I had no idea existed?
