A Few Months Later
I stood on the side of the court as I waited to be introduced. Since I had been on the team, we had grown as a team together and we had played in a lot of the international competitions- but this was the big one. We were waiting to take the court for our first game in the World Championships, and they were being held in London, England. We were playing the Russians, and since we were the home team, we were being announced after them. As the Russian lineup was announced, our coach was talking to us about the match.
It came time for them to introduce us, and I was introduced last. After everyone else, the announcer said, "And finally, number 5 for Team USA, hailing from Brooklyn, New York... Megan Fallon!" I high fived my teammates, and the match began.

"Nice game Meg!"
"Yeah, you played great!"
"Awesome job today Meg!"
All my teammates congratulated me on a great game, and I did the same for them. We all left the locker room, and as I left, Coach grabbed my wrist. He smiled and said, "I think you forgot something in the locker room, but I'm not sure... Can you check and see if it's yours or not?" I nodded and smiled back at him, wondering why he was smiling. Well, we had beaten Russia in three sets.
I entered the locker room and looked inside my locker, and I heard a familiar voice ring through the room.
"Hey Meg."
I turned around to see Jimmy standing across the room. I immediately dropped my bag and ran over to him, wrapping my arms around him and hugging him tightly. "I thought that you had work!" I said, still in shock that he was here. "Nah, I have a little vacation! Nancy is back home with Winnie-" I opened my mouth to ask why, and he had already began to answer me. "She wanted me to come alone so that we could have some quality time together and so that I can be here for you and cheer you on. Besides, she has a new project that she's working on." I smiled widely and hugged him tightly again. "I can't believe you came!" He laughed and said, "Well, I'm here." I hit him lightly and smiled. I couldn't be happier.

"Megan, do you think that you can do this with Jenny setting for you over there?" Coach asked me as he showed us the playbook. I nodded, and we broke our huddle. I looked up, and Jimmy was sitting right behind our bench in the row closest to the court. I couldn't help but smile. We were in the Finals of the Women's Volleyball World Championships, and we were playing Japan. We set up our play, and we served the ball. Our floor captain, Destinee, had a great dig, and set Jenny up for the set to me. Jenny set the ball perfectly at the net, and I launched myself into the air. For a millisecond, I looked at the court and found an open spot, and I brought my fist down to make contact with the ball, and it flew down to the ground. Everyone clapped, and the ref blew the whistle, signaling that we had just gotten a point. I hadn't spiked much in the tournament, so people didn't know that I was a top notch spiker.
We were in the third set, and we were leading the Japanese by two. It was game point. We had to get one more point, and then we would be the World Champions. It was my turn to serve, and I tossed the ball up and hit it over the net to the Japanese team. They spiked it, and I dove to save the ball from hitting the ground. As I quickly recovered from my dive, Jenny yelled, "Meg, I'm setting you!" As she set the ball, I sent my fist crashing down onto the ball.
Boom.
We did it. We just won the World Championship.
