Jimmy's POV

As Megan calmed down, I continued to soothe her and comfort her. "Megs, I'm so sorry... I'm so, so sorry..." I whispered as I rubbed her back. She was clutching my shirt, and her head was nuzzled into my chest- I could tell that she was extremely upset. She was sniffling every now and then, but I waited for her to calm down until I began to talk.

"Megan... I don't even know what to say... I'm so sorry... Please, please forgive me..." I was still holding on to her, and I felt her weak grip on my shirt shift. She sniffled again, and she said, "I'm just upset... I had everything set up to tell you... It was going to be perfect..." I could tell that she was getting emotional again, and I brought her closer to me. "Shh, it's okay Megs... I'm sorry I yelled at you and I got angry with you. I was just upset that I had gotten the news from Taran and not you." Megan finally looked up at me for the first time tonight, and I got to see her face- her eyes were bloodshot, and her cheeks were stained with tears. Her nose was red from sniffling, and her makeup was smeared a little bit. I felt so guilty for yelling at her... Megan took a deep breath and said, "It's okay... I understand why you were angry... I still have to talk to Colin about this later. I haven't been able to keep myself together for more than 15 minutes at a time." I hugged her again and said, "Well I'm here now, okay? Everything is fine, I love you so much and I'm so proud of you." Meg's arms wrapped around me weakly, and I could tell that she had emotionally exhausted herself. "Can we go home?" She asked me, and I nodded. I helped her up off of the ground, and I guided her to the car. We drove home, and I had been debating asking this the whole drive- I finally grew the balls to ask it.

"Do you want to do your pregnancy reveal surprise thing again? So that we can experience it together? Like you wanted to?"

I nervously looked over at Megan, not knowing how she would react. "I... It won't be the same, Jimmy..." She said sadly, dropping her head. As we stopped at a stop sign, I placed my dumb on her chin and made her look at me. "You're right, it won't... Because now I'll have you with me." I saw Megan's eyes light up, and a smile finally appeared on her face- I hadn't seen her smile for a few hours.  She grabbed my hand and squeezed it, and I already felt that she was beginning to feel better.

We got home, and I helped Megan inside. It wasn't physically evident that she was pregnant yet, but I could tell that she was dealing with some of the symptoms of a pregnancy. We both went to the couch and sat down, and I read the letter that she had typed out loud. I knew that she wouldn't want to do the whole scavenger hunt thing again, because she was physically and emotionally worn out. I finished reading the letter, and I looked over at her with beaming eyes. She had tears in her eyes, and I hugged her again. I whispered in her ear, "I'm so proud of you, Meggo. You're gonna be the best mom in the world." She hugged me deeply and replied, "I love you so much, Jimmy."

We separated, and I asked her, "How many weeks along are you?" She replied and said, "Just about 9 weeks." I smiled widely. She didn't know the gender yet because it was too early. "Do you think it's a girl or a boy?" I asked, and she shrugged. "I don't know." I laughed and retorted, "Hey, you have a 50/50 chance!" Meg stifled a laugh. I asked her, "So do you know how you and Colin want to do everything yet?" She looked at me with a confused expression, and I couldn't help but laugh. "What do you mean?" She asked me, and I replied, "Stuff like whether you'll do a natural birth or use an epidural, whether you'll want to find out the baby's gender during your pregnancy or find out when you give birth... That kind of stuff." Megan looked at me like a deer in the headlights, and I smiled and comfortingly added, "You don't have to know any of it yet. I was just wondering." She blushed and added, "I'm not sure about the epidural yet, but I do know that I want to wait to find out the gender until I give birth." I smiled at her and said, "That's a great way to do it."

***

Fast forward a few months. Megan had finally gone on maternity leave- but I had to fight her on that. She didn't want to leave the studio at all. She had been on maternity leave for a while, and she was due next week. I was prepared to drop everything and be there for her delivery, but it was touch and go. She was ready to deliver now, but her due date was next week. As I entered my office, I looked outside. It was so dark, but the city was lit up beautifully. We had finished the taping a few hours ago, and I was waiting to help Gavin with production stuff. I heard my phone ringing, and I saw the caller ID- it was Megan. I picked up the phone, and I heard an unfamiliar voice on the other line. "Hi, Mr. Fallon? My name is Natalie, and I'm a nurse at Presbyterian... Your sister is having contractions right now and she's getting ready to go into labor, and she asked that I call you to come to the hospital." I began grabbing all of my things frantically, and I asked the nurse, "Did she say anything about Colin?" The nurse calmly replied, "She's having us call Colin next." The nurse hung up, and I paused. Meg had me put higher on the list of contacts than Colin... Wow. I ran into the studio and found Gavin and some of the writers, and I put my phone in my pocket as I rushed to put on my jacket. "Meg's about to go into labor... I'm gonna head over to the hospital!" I said, and as I ran outside, I heard Miles yell, "Keep us updated!"

I finally got in my truck and began driving to Presbyterian.

Well, tonight would be fun.
