I slowly opened my eyes and I realized that I had a headache, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it was before. I looked at the time and saw that it was around 7pm, and I saw Jimmy passed out on the couch in my hospital room. Nancy must have went back to the house with Winnie, and Jimmy probably offered to stay here. I looked around and saw an IV pump, and it was labelled with painkillers. I pumped it a few times so that it would help subdue the pain in my leg and in my head, and I laid back in exhaustion. Today had been an eventful day. As I looked up at the ceiling, my eyes drifted over towards my file folder on my bedside table.

I reached across and grabbed it, and I began to snoop around. A piece of paper slipped out, and I set my file back and grabbed the paper. I picked it up, and I saw that they had somehow gotten my records. Everything that I had ever had was on there- from all my medications, vaccinations, and hospitalizations, to my previous illnesses and stuff like that. The list wasn't that long, but most of it was taken up by lists of medications.

Right after I put the paper back, I saw Jimmy stir as he woke up. He stretched and yawned, and I looked at him sympathetically. "You didn't have to stay here... You could have gone back home with Winnie and Nancy." Jimmy looked at me and said, "No. I want to be here with you until they discharge you." I smiled sincerely, and Jimmy got up and grab a chair. He put it next to my bed, and he sat down. "How do you feel?" I took a deep breath and said, "I'm in pain, but I actually feel a lot better today." He smiled and replied, "That's good Meg, you're making progress." I couldn't help but smile at Jimmy and his constant positivity. In the back of my mind, I was anxious about the fact that he could bring up my relapse at any moment. I looked up at Jimmy and saw that he was deep in thought, and I took a deep breath.

"The doctor told you, didn't he...?" I asked, and Jimmy nodded solemnly. "Jimmy, I'm sorry... I'm sorry I put you through all this crap..." Jimmy grabbed my hand and squeezed it, which signaled me to be quiet. "Meg, I just want you to be okay. I want you to be happy and healthy. You're my sister- I care about you and I want to help you. I'm giving you one more chance to try and fix this without any help, but if you relapse again, I'm gonna schedule an intake with a counselor... I want you to be okay, Meg." I sighed and whispered, "I'm sorry Jimmy..." He squeezed my hand again and said, "Hey, Meg. Everyone messes up and everyone makes mistakes. Just learn from it and know how to deal with the situation the next time you encounter it."

Two weeks later

I rode up the elevator with Jimmy, and I smiled. It was great to finally be back at work again. I was in a cast and on crutches, but I was just happy to be back at 30 Rock. We got to Studio 6B, and I parted ways with Jimmy and carefully made my way to the writer's room. As I opened the door (which was a struggle), I saw a bunch of flowers and cards on the table at my seat. I smiled and sat down, and I began opening the cards. They were all from the crew- there were things from Questlove, Mike Dicenzo, AD Miles, John Haskell, Arthur Meyer, Tyreek, and even Lorne, just to name a few. I couldn't help but smile at the hospitality and care that they showed me, and I knew that this was where I belonged. Even though work was stressful, I loved every second of it.

"Megan, how do you feel?" John asked me as we walked down the hall towards the studio. I smiled and replied, "I'm okay. I've had better days." He smiled and said to me, "I'm just glad that you're okay." John Haskell was one of my best friends from college, and working with him was one of the best things that ever happened to me. "I'm so glad to be back at work." I said, and he smiled at me as we sat down in the studio. "We're glad that you're back... It wasn't the same without you." I hugged John and said, "You're the best, John."

Even though I wasn't in the best of circumstances at the moment, I was encouraged and uplifted by everyone at the Tonight Show. They weren't just coworkers, they were family.
