*Football Field/Crime Scene: Nighttime*
Hank was walking the length of the field with Ana on his left and Emma on his right.
"Female victim. Young, black . . .pretty. Not that it matters." The Commander sighed.
"Everything matters." The brunette retorted.
"This school falls in a safe passage zone. Two tac teams assigned. They're rolling in any minute." Emma informed. "All eyes are on us. This block is supposed to be safe."
"Copy." Hank nodded in understanding.
The Commander split off from them to talk with another Officer and the two Sergeants continued towards Jay.
"Rough one. Grace Johnson, 22 years old." He muttered as they walked over to Kim, Kevin, and Alvin.
The three said cops were crowded around the body of the girl Jay just described. Ana realized the poor girl was naked and swallowed, choosing to focus on her husband's figure instead.
"She's not in the system. No priors. Nothing." Kim added.
"Found her bag nearby. She definitely wasn't robbed, but there's barely any blood here, so she was probably killed someplace else and then dumped." Kevin speculated.
"Well, she fought back. Defensive wounds. She's got skin under her fingernails. Three small-caliber bullet wounds." Alvin pointed out, standing up from where he had been crouched by the body.
"There's marks around her neck. Looks like she was strangled, but the ME's not gonna know cause of death till she gets her on the table." Jay explained.
Ana suddenly noticed another figure lurking behind Alvin and grinned, walking over.
"Kenny, it's been way too long." She chuckled, pulling him into a hug much to the shock and confusion of everyone besides Hank and Alvin.
"Hey, Ana." He smiled, giving her a quick squeeze before pulling back.
"Hey, Kenny, listen. Bag her hands." Hank ordered with a small smile.
"Have forensics run a deluxe." Ana added, receiving a nod in response. "Thanks."
"Who is that?" Jay wondered as Kenny walked off.
"It's Kenny Rixton." Hank replied. "He's Ruzek's replacement."
"What?" Kim asked in disbelief.
"Ruzek's replacement." The older man repeated, incredulously.
"Hey, we'll fill you in later." Ana assured, inwardly rolling her eyes at her husband's blunt nature. "For right now, do us a favor and get that under control, please?"
The brunette nodded towards a woman who was shouting about something behind the yellow tape. Kim glanced back at Ana before heading over.
"Work the case." Hank instructed to the rest of the team before he walked off with Ana in tow.
*District 21: Bullpen*
Hank and Ana came out of the Office with Kenny in between them. The older man gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder as the brunette spoke up.
"Okay, everyone. This is Kenny Rixton. He been assigned over from the gang unit." She introduced. "The three of us used to work together over there."
"Where's Adam?" Kim blurted out and Hank looked over at her.
Ana refrained from biting her lip, knowing that everyone would immediately suspect that something was wrong, and merely let her husband do the talking.
